| Welcome to SCBR Weekend Dispatcher |
The weekend dispatcher job was created as a safety net for transporters so the run can proceed in a timely manner. Problems with runs can include lost directions and phone numbers, traffic delays, delays picking up a dog at the shelter, unable to locate next transporter. The Transport Coordinator will forward you all the final runs, with phone numbers for each leg. The Head Dispatcher will post the dispatcher on duty for all the runs. The on-duty Dispatcher must be available by phone with all information they have until all the runs are completed. The on-duty dispatcher will, or should, hear from the person who picks up the dog (first leg) that the dog is "in" and on it's way. Then, during the run, people will likely check in to tell you where the dog is and if the run is "on time. If there are any delays, or problems on the run, they will call you to notify you about them; if you think it is needed you will contact the "legs" further down the list. |
