12/20/17-Lucas continues to be an absolute joy!  I am really going to miss this guy when he finds his forever home.  Whoever becomes his forever family is going to be one lucky family.  My family and extended family and friends have met him and all commented what a sweet and gentle guy he is.  They all wanted him.  My mother is 83 years old and said she considered him to be the ideal dog for her as a senior citizen.

He sleeps through the night on a dog bed and wakes up in the morning only after you wake up.  He goes outside to "do his business" (yes, he has learned that command) although he really does not need to be told to do that.  He does his business at the edge of the backyard, which is really nice.  I wish I could get him to train my 4-year old to do that!  He is now letting me know he has to go outside by being vocal and by doing a little adorable dance with his front feet.

He loves to eat (I give him 4 cups of Fromm) and he has really filled out nicely.  The pictures I took of him make him look much larger than what he really is.  He is a small boxer, just slightly smaller than my boxer, which is ideal.  He had a bout of kennel cough/bronchitis when I first got him, but with antibiotics covered in wet food meatballs, he recovered nicely.  He has had a few peeing accidents in the house when left unattended for a while with unlimited water available to him, but with limited water intake in the morning, he has not had any accidents.  He would probably do well with a family that is able to let him out during the day so he does not have any accidents.   He is alert to noise.  He is a very quiet and affectionate guy and just wants to give love and be loved.  He is a quick learner.  He has learned to sit and give "paw" before breakfast and dinner.  I don't even have to ask him to sit and give "paw" anymore.  He loves to play with a tennis ball and will fetch it and bring it back to you.  He did great getting a bath in the bathtub and has the softest fur.

11/30/2017 Lucas is a beautiful, affectionate, well-mannered, sweet and gentle older boxer boy.  He would do well with any family, including an older family who wants the love of a boxer, but not the high activity of a younger boxer.  He is house trained and sleeps through the night on a bed next to my bed.  He loves playing with any type of ball.  Please consider expanding your family to include Lucas.

Since I am a photographer, I will be taking LOTS of pictures of Lucas because he is just a beautiful boy!
