1/25/16 It's been a month since Grace has arrived and this little girl has come full circle in many ways. From quiet, subdued and confused she has evolved into this sweet, spunky, curious, tail wiggling boxer. I truly believe she is making up for a lot of lost time considering her history which is sketchy at best. Word has it she was used as a breeding dog who was dumped at a shelter because of her age. Having very little background it has taken a while to see who and what she is really like. She is very responsive to sit, down and paw with food being her reward. It was heart breaking to see how hungry and thirsty she was all the time. By her physical shape (could feel every vertebrate, hip pointers and her ribs) and I don't believe she had a whole lot of access to free water. In spite of that, she is not food aggressive and takes water in regular amounts now, instead of inhaling the whole water bowl. I was told she was 8 years old but you would never know that by the way she runs around. We call her Amazing Grace, Grace or Gracie Grey (her cheeks are dusted with a beautiful grey) and her sub title or theme song is "Addicted to Love". Everyone is the center of her attention, She is either near you, on you or sitting next to you. She sticks her nose up in the air so you can stroke her chest and neck while she purrs. Yesssssss...... she purrs when she is being loved on. She loves toys, balls, bones, playing keep away with socks and dish towels. She is even jousting with my 15 month old male boxer on a regular basis, hiding toys from him under the day bed and sneak attacking from behind the chairs. Her comfort level with my two males is complete when she is snuggling with one or the other. I can't say enough good things about this black beauty except she needs a forever home that has a lot of time and attention for her....She deserves it !!!
12/24/15 This little girl was delivered to me on Christmas Eve by two very dedicated rescue volunteers from Syracuse and Rochester.   Since she is starting her new life with SCBR, I am using 12/24 as her birthdate with an age of 8 years old. First physical impressions are sad....she is VERY skinny (nothing that regular feedings can't fix) The good news is she MAJOR LOVE BUG !!!!! Grace is very affectionate, cuddly, has a great disposition with my 2 boxers and is going to make some family quite happy. More to come in a few days
