7/8-Dirk is a very handsome sweet boy. For his age he seems on the calm side. Dirk loves attention. I think he would rather roll over and have his belly rubbed than eat his breakfast lol.. He is too cute. Oh and ball. That is his favorite. He constantly greets me with a ball all day. This young boy does decent with commands but seems to be a selective listener. He will come, sit, lay down, and even give paw if he thinks you're going to give him attention. It's all about the attention with this boy. But when Dirk is being "too much" and i give him a command he can be a little on the stubborn side. This can be very typical of a young male boxer. Dirk loves his foster sisters and seems to be adjusting to his changes well.
Dirk does have separation anxiety and we are currently working on it. With this being said, Dirk may be better in a home where someone can work from home or not be gone long hours. He is coming into foster care under weight. He doesn't always eat all of his dinner thou either. But, hopefully after his neutering and some healthy portions we can fix him right up.
6/28/14- Dirk is a 1 year old owner surrender that came into rescue today as his owner was moving and could not take him with them. He lived with and was good with kids 4 and up and a cat that he would play chase at times but was also good with.  He loves all other dogs but has some separation anxiety and doesn't like to be crated.  He is said to be okay out of the crate when left alone but being such a young boy he will be best with someone home more often.  More updates soon on this great boy!
