| UPDATE 6/2/08 - We are so joyful to have Wallace as a new member of our family. Wallace has is doing well with his sisters Susan our GSP, Puppylou our Wheaton and his brother Magnum our happy Lab. The first 4 days Wallace tried very hard to "claim" me when the other dogs came near me. We gently corrected Wallace by telling him no and as of this last weekend everyone is getting along well and Wallace doesn't try to frighten them away from me. "Wallace The Wonder Dog" has a job as the new office assistant manager. He goes to work with me each day. He has a bed under my desk and a create as well so to stay in practice that once in a while we must be in our create. He has his food and water bowl, and of course some toys. He has a little snack and water with me at lunch time. He loves a little 2X2 teddy bear sqeaky that I gave him when we first met. He loves it so much that we had to go back to Petsmart and get the frog too. We keep the frog at home so he one at work and one at home. He has
began to play and romp at least a couple of times each day. He is funny to watch. Yesterday I was surprised that each time I threw the ball he went and got it AND BROUGHT IT BACK TO ME! He has not had any accidents in the house. We go outside shortly after eating or drinking. We have a big dish for Wallace and have put some really big rocks in the dish which is helping Wallace to slow down while eating. Wallace has a few sores on the tips his ears and neck and they are almost healed. His neck is healing quicker then his ears but they are healing. Slow but sure. I "lube" Wallace at least once a day with some all natural coconut oil which has helped a great deal with his digging himself. And I guess the coconut oil has some healing powers....at least thats what they say. At any rate it is working. And if he licks the coconut oil off himself it will not harm him. Wallace is extremly smart. He does not miss a trick. He already knows my car and has settled very nicely into
our routine. He does not leave my side. In fact his is sleeping on my foot right now! He is a cuddle bug and will sleep with you any where at any time! We are still investigating 3 obedience training places but have not yet decided on "the one". We have until June 27th so we are taking our time. We want only the best trainer for Wallace. I believe Wallace will be the best dog there! Wallace will show them just how smart and what a good listener he is. We will forward some pics as soon as I find the cord to download them! We have a cute pic of Wallace in his PJ's sitting on top of Magnum. Our family would like to THANK YOU...SECOND CHANCE...FOR BEING THERE FOR WALLACE IN HIS TIME OF NEED AND FOR GIVING US THE CHANCE TO MAKE WALLACE A PART OF OUR FAMILY! God Bless each and everyone! Lots of Love, from Wallace Wayne Eastman aka The Wonder Dog! ;0) 5/27/08 - Wallace has been adopted! 4/9/08 - Wallace was fixed at the end of last week and is doing great. He has settled in really well with us and the other dogs. He is really loving the warmer weather. He is alot more willing to go outside and has been playing outside with the other dogs. We have learned that Wallace can jump really high and we have to watch he doesn't knock stuff down. We think he is so active to keep his body temp up. He has gained little weight but we are working on it. I have also learned that he loves to cuddle under a blanket it is an instant calming effect for him. We are still woking on his digging and scratching. His skin is so sensitive but he doesn't seem to mind therefore he doesn't leave it alone. 3/31/08 - Wallace has been here a few days and is doing well. He is a very sweet little guy. He was a little nervous at first but became comfortable with us quick. I was not sure how the other dogs would take to him but it went really well with everyone. He has meet a few people and acted a little nervous at first. He shivers when he is nervous. He really enjoys playing with toys and the other dogs. He also likes to cuddle and be with his person all the time. We were told not to bother with clothes for him because he likes to tear them up. I feel bad that he is cold outside but he does okay. Wallace came from a family that was taking care of him temporarily. They took good care of him for the short time they had him. I do not to much about his previous home. He is still underweight and has a few scrathes and scares on his body. His skin is very sensitive but it does not seem to bother him that much. I think Wallace would like a home where someone is home alot would like to play with him often. |
