3/12/08 - Tyson has been here 2 months now for who knows why! He is just the greatest dog and I
would love to adopt him myself, but I know a very hard to place boxer is out there needing my quiet
home and keeping such an easy going, easy keeper dog would be wrong. I added a couple of his
cuddling pictures to show how sweet he is! He LOVES to cuddle with you on the couch or bed and
will nudge you until you let him under at least the top blanket! LOL He talks like he is trying to say
words and will make all kinds of yawning, woo-woo'ing, howling, etc. noises when you talk to him and
ask him what he wants. I crack up every time he does this as it just adds so much to his personality.
Tyson loves to go for car rides too and will sniff the air out the window as I drive. He waits for me in
the car when we are out doing errands and is so happy to see me when I get back (even if it's 5
minutes, Tyson acts so excited as if he has not seen me in 5 hours!-LOL!). He is just a joy to have
around and so good. He is house trained, crate trained, great with my cat now, great with Sandi and
my other foster, Duke, loves everybody he meets. He is rough on meeting strange dogs on leash, but
he easily can live in a neighborhood or setting with other dogs around when he's being walked on leash.
Seriously, you do not want to miss out on Tyson, he's a super catch that does not come around too
often!
2/23/08 - I am amazed every day that goes by without a call from Tyson's new home! He is such a
great dog & the funniest guy!
He is doing great with my boxer girl Sandi and was great with his brother, Rocky. He has a hard time
meeting new dogs, as he is dominant with dogs, but if the other dog is more submissive and doesn't fight
Tyson, then he does fine. Tyson is also starting to get the hang of living with my cat and he will listen
when I tell him to leave J.J. alone. He still is very tempted to chase J.J. and step on him and push him
with his muzzle, but now it is much more very rough play and not trying to really hurt J.J. I think with a
dog savvy cat (or one that will smack him once or twice with their claws!) and some patience and
training, then Tyson would be okay to live with cats.
Tyson is a very handsome and loveable boy and is waiting patiently for his new home to come along.
Hurry and ask for him!
1/26/08 - Tyson is such a character! He is a "talker" and likes to let you know what he is thinking and
wants. He is one of those that will woo-woo, yawn, make funny noises and squish his face up as he
tries to get his point across. I love it! It cracks me up and he gets so mad when I laugh at him when he
does this. He will then try to find a toy and walk around wiggling and trying to be all cute! He loves
being with you, but he is also fine to be home when I'm at work. Tyson has adjusted to the crate and is
good in it now. He is eating great and putting some much needed weight on. Tyson loves to go for car
rides and is just a great boy that you do not want to miss out on. He will surely keep you laughing too!
:)
1/20/08 - Tyson is settling in & doing well after his neuter. He has got use to being crated and goes in
with a treat. He is a super nice boy with me and his brother Rocky, but he does not want to be with the
other dogs in the house. I tried introducing him to my 9 year old boxer girl and submissive foster boy
Snowy and even though Tyson seemed happy to see them, he started big fights. The shelter said he
had the same issue there, so we will say unless Tyson goes to a home with his brother Rocky, he will
need to be an only dog. He would be fine to live around other dogs & be walked around other dogs,
just not the type to go to doggie daycare, a dog park or play with family members' dogs. Tyson also is
way too interested in my cat & wants to do more than play! LOL He will be a great companion for
someone as he just loves his people. He also seems perfectly fine when I have him without his brother,
so hurry before this good lucking boy is gone!
1/14/08 - Rocky Bojangles & his brother, Tyson are two very handsome 4 year old brindle boys.
They were surrendered to a local shelter we work with because of a change in the owners' living
situation. They both get along great with each other, but the shelter said they were not so wonderful
with meeting some other dogs, but that was in the stressful shelter environment. Once they have had
some more time to settle in I will try them with my boxer girl Sandi to see how they do. They were
overly interested in J.J.,my cat, but only met him when he was outside, so he may have been thought of
as a giant squirrel! :) More intros to come with J.J. & the boys too later this week.
They are all up to date on their shots, heartworm & lyme negative & will be neutered on Wednesday.
They are both super sweet with me, just a little crazy as they do not seem to have learned too much
obedience wise. Their owners did not crate them & left them out in the house when they were not
home & said they were not destructive, but did have occasional accidents. Both are learning the art of
crate training here & doing very well with that so far (though a little complaining, drooling & crying does
happen). More updates soon on these boys, if someone is looking for one boy or a pair of boys, they
will be ready to go home soon!
