SOPHIA
UPDATE  10/20/08 - Sofia is doing very well! She has adjusted to all of us. She loves to go out and play
but does not like to be without us in her sight. she is great in house and has only had two accidents in the
begining. She loves her toys and plays constantly with them. The minute we walk in the door we are greeted
with her cute butt shake and some toy in her mouth! She does not need to have surgery on her eyes and did
great getting her shots with no reactions. She loves the car and going to training is great. She now can be let
off her leash and play with other dogs has long as they are her size or bigger. She is always with us to the
many soccer games we attend with are children and that to has been a big improvement. She seems to be
adjusting to strang places easily now.

UPDATE 8/26/08 - Sophia ia adjusting very well. She loves our family already. If she can't find one of us
she'll pace around until she does see us. She does not like our cats but the obedience trainer thinks that will
be an easy fix once she learns she's safe. On her first day of obedience training she was already ahead of the
class. She walks very well and sits and lays down when told. She will now move on to healing and getting
along with others. We have already had a trip to the vet and she so did not like the other animals there but
with more training that should go away.(praying) She is in good health but might need to have an operation
on her eyes. This would explain all the eye ruining gunk. We'll be seeing a specialist in September for this.
We have decided that she is finally settled in because the other morning she was running around the house
like it was a race track when she saw that the kids were up!!! She was so excited and could not wait to
play! Her bed was in the fireplace and the throw rugs were no were in sight, the throw pillows were on the
floor in a heap, she was so happy!!!! We love Sophia!!!

8/15/08 - Sophia has been adopted!

7/11/08 - I can not believe the difference between the dog that came to me a couple of weeks ago and the
girl that is with me today.  She is really a great girl that has figured out my schedule and has really just settled
in.  The barking is down 90% and her really only issue is seeing another dog on   our walks but even that is
not quiet as bad as it was when she first arrived.  She does great in her crate.  She has learned to sit, lay
down, give paw and drop (whatever she has in her mouth).  Sophia has a gentle soul and would not take
anything from you or a child and you can take anything out of her mouth.  She will not pull on anything
including a dog bone or biscuit.  This girl needs someone to love her.  Is that you?

7/3/08 - Sophia has started to really settle down and is starting to enjoy herself here.  I find that she is afraid
of a lot of things so she comes out barking.  The first week and half she need to be on leash after 8PM or
else she would bark at every little thing.  This week since Monday she has not been on leash at all and the
barking is down to one or two a night.   I finally got her on a regular feeding schedule.  I am telling you this
little girl will love you forever as you will her once you meet her.

6/27/08  - This is Sophia here, my foster mom(FM) says I should tell you about myself.  As you read I am a
sweet girl who will love to watch over you.  I love meeting all people but my FM says my bark scares them
but if they see my wiggle going as  fast as my barking then they realize I just want to greet them.  I love my
toys and carry them all around and love chewy bones.  They keep me busy.  I tolerate the crate, would
prefer to be with you but realize that there are times I need to be crated and I am fine with that.  Give me a
treat and I will  wait for you to come home. I have waited for my FM for up to eight hours.  She loves me
for that.  I know when and where to do my business.   I love to run and play and I love kids.  I would love
to have a forever family...Are you looking for a forever doggie?  Please pick me..   Bye for now.

6/21/08 - Well its been almost a week since this little girl arrived and she has settled down a bit.  Sophia has
not had much in training so once she gets that you will have a wonderful girl that will fit into your family.  She
loves being outside and loves her rocks.  She has started a rock pile in the yard.  So I make a game of it and
scatter them around the yard and then she goes looking for them.  This keeps her busy and working.  She
also loves water.  Not sure if she will swim, but put the hose on her and she will play for hours.  Recently,
Sophia got loose from her run and was having a grand old time running round the Condo.  She did come
when called although I did enticed her with the hose.

6/18/08 - It seems that Sophie has been allowed to be the alpha in the family and is slowly learning that is
not the case here. I must say I think she is happier not being the alpha. When we first started walking she
would bark and howl at everyone to make sure they knew she was around. She has a very deep bark which
in turned startled most people but all she really wanted to do was greet them. Since I have taken control our
walks are a lot quieter and people see her as the sweet girl she is. We are still working on the barking in the
house. This girl just loves to bark. She barks sometimes when she is just laying down. It has been less so I
am still certain some of this is due to stress and being in a new home with new sounds. Sophie is very smart
and will do great with some obedience training. I also think she would prefer to be your only dog, or with
other dogs that are not alpha. She came from a home with four other dogs and they only had a few scraps
over toys and bones, but she had her way....

She had excellent car manners, sleeps next to my bed without a fuss, and barks just a little when put in the
crate but settles down and and when I come home the crate is fine.

6/15/08 - Sophie was surrendered into rescue today and what a sweet girl she is. A little vocal but hopefully
that will settle down once her stress is gone. She has over indulge with food as her family use to leave food
out all the time and she took full advantage of it. So we will be restricting her intake and hopefully shed those
few extra pounds. I will have her join Weight Watchers with me and get going on some exercise (which we
both could use). I will write more as Sophie and I get to know each other.
