| UPDATE 12/15/08 - Hello, Simon is doing great. He has made himself quite comfortable in his new home and is getting along with Portis, our cat. Simon loves cuddling up on the couch with us and always follows us to be in whatever room we are in. We just returned from a visit to my mother's house and Simon did extremely well, quickly becoming friends with her golden retriever. He recently had a successful trip to the vet and received a clean bill of health. Simon has had two obedience classes so far. He does not get along well with the other dog in the class, but we think this is due mostly to the other dog's issues. Simon has been a fantastic addition to our home and we are very happy and lucky to have him. 11/16/08 - Simon has been adopted! 11/8/08 - Simon came through his neuter without a hitch, and he is Heartworm (and Lyme free) so he is ready to be adopted! This perfect boy will be the perfect addition to ANY household, He may not be the best looking Boxer around but he has the best Boxer personality! He is gentle and friendly, loves kids and meeting new people, is doing great with Ruben and is ok with cats. He walks easily on a leash, knows a few tricks, walked right into the crate on command---but doesn't need to be crated! This boy is quite a catch for someone who knows that beauty is only skin deep, and that his beauty is as deep as the ocean is wide. 11/2/08 - SImon arrrived at the Riverview after a long transport. He is a flashy fawn with natural ears and a docked tail, and a lovely pedigree! He is settling in nicely already, and is wagging his little nub at Ruben through the baby gates. He has a hearty appetite and is quiet. My son took him for a long walk and said that he is great on the leash. He is very gentle with treats, and so far we've figured out he knows "sit" and "Shake". SImon lived with a young child and is reported to be good with other dogs and with cats. We'll find out tonight how crate-trained he is. Simon is up to date on his shots, but not yet neutered. Luckily he hasn't seemed interested in marking anywhere inside! He came with a few toys and seems to enjoy them. So far, we are enjoying him! |
