SAMSON
5/7/08 - All the dogs are finally getting along!! They love to run around and chase each other!! There are still a few if-y moments where they do the stare down and I call them away from one another
before a fight may possibly break out. Samson is really fitting in around here. He loves to play fetch and he just loves being outside. I am a stay at home mom so on the nice days we are all outside all
day so by 5 o'clock all the dogs are pooped out!

I have cut back on Samson's food a little to help him shed a few pounds so he will look fabulous for his new home when he gets adopted. He is getting tons of exercise I think he looks skinnier already! I will be showing him off at a BRAD in Hooksett NH this Saturday from 10-2 at pet supplies. If anyone from that area has had their eye open for a great boxer boy come and check him out he would love to meet you. Samson would make a great addition to someone's family.

5/5/08 -
Samson continues to be a great dog. He loves any kid that has come through the door he greets them with kisses!! I wish I could however get him to love my dogs!! Since their first introduction didn't go so well (I tried too soon) I kept Samson in the kennel yesterday in the living room so we were all right there. That way they could sniff through that. Last evening we took one of our dogs at a time out to meet again. Max went first they tried to start something but we pulled them right back. We took them for a walk down the road and back and they were fine. I think that my dogs are afraid of him they don't really want to go near him!! Next was Maddy's turn. They sniffed and that was that she wouldn't go near him! So we walked them too and they were fine. After the kids had gone to bed and the dogs were relaxing I took Samson out of the kennel on his leash so that he could sit by me and relax outside the kennel. Maddy and Max tried to come over to him, But I wouldn't let them in the house so everyone settled down and things were fine. I even got up to
get a drink and Samson didn't move a muscle!!

We have been letting Samson sleep in our room with us so that he is more comfortable. He does well. He goes from the bed to the floor back to the bed! He is a bed hog, he is so big!! He goes outside with no leash and the second I say his name he comes immediately. He has been eating and drinking well. Other than him not getting along with my dogs he is awesome. Very sweet and loving he likes to snuggle. He loves the attention from my kids. His previous owner said that he is great with other dogs- well so are mine. I am not so sure he is great when he has to live with one as I am noticing with my dogs!! I think he is dominant and coming into a new home were there is another dominant dog it will take some time to work out who is going to be the boss! Samson will make a great addition to anyones family. He comes from a family that had just him so I am not sure if that would be the best for him- time will tell how he is going to get along with my dogs. I will update again soon.

5/3/08 -
Samson arrived today he is great.  He is a big boy!!  He is a little over weight but he is also tall!  He met my two year old child and they are already the best of friends!!  He is definitely nervous right now and doesn't get what is going on.  I introduced him to my two boxers- not so good!  Things seemed alright at first and then him and my female started.  I put them in and took Samson for a walk to try and relax him.  We tried again with the dogs and he and my male were not getting along at all.  So I called it quits with the introductions for the day!  He will go into the kennel but he barks- he is just nervous though.  I am going to try and keep him gated in a room and see how that goes until everyone settles down.

I really hope they can get along because Samson seems like an excellent loving dog.  He came from a great home.  I think that he wants to be friends and my dogs are just being grumpy.  My previous foster and my dogs got along after a few days, but he was 18 months old and could be put in his place.  Samson is 4 and isn't going to put up with it!  Well time will tell like I said I hope it works out.  I have to be careful because I have small children, which he is absolutely great with- he gives lots of kisses!!  I will update again in the next day or so.
