SAMANTHA
4/8/08 - Nora / Julie,

We were not sure who to advise the sad news.  Our beloved Samantha Ellen “as we called her Sammi” is waiting at Rainbow Bridge. This past September Sammi started having seizures and we were treating her with Phenobarbital.  She was doing great and seizures were minimal over the next 7 months.  It was Wednesday night and she had 9 seizures over a 10 hour period with 3 in 1 hour that started the horrible night. Unfortunately, she never recovered and her quality of life was not coming back. After consulting with our local Veterinarian, we decided to bring her to a peaceful location.

Sammi provided love and affection to all.  Always ready to go for a walk or out in the yard to play. We adopted another Boxer – Zoe – from the local SAVE last September.  Sammi was great in showing Zoe the ropes around the house. Zoe also helped Sammi teaching her new games they could play together while I worked downstairs. Before Zoe – Sammi would sleep downstairs on her bed in my office.  When she wanted to go out she would nudge my hand off the keyboard to either give her attention or go out. After Zoe arrived it was like having 2 puppies in the house. I could hear both of them running around over my head and usually a slipper was in the middle thrown high by one or the other.  Sammi was like the queen bee and my little girl. Sammi and Zoe slept together in a large bed to keep warm in the winter and were great companions.

I have attached a picture of Sammi ( standing ) and Zoe together.

We want to thank Second Chance Boxer Rescue for all the effort put in to save Boxers and dogs in general. Sammi was the sweetest girl who only needed some love attention and proper medical care to live a long and wonderful life. She gave back every ounce we gave her and more.

We all miss Sammi dearly, including Zoe.
