| UPDATE 3/30/09 - Princess is adjusting very well to her forever home. She is getting along with her three feline family members. Princess and I started private training lessons last week. Her trainer was very impressed with her level of intelligence. I am now walking Princess on a harness instead of her collar, seems to give me better control over her when she sees another dog or the like. That's it for now, will check back in soon. UPDATE 1/18/09 - Princess did well at the vet on 1/12/09. A few days later, we brought a urine sample and it was discovered that she had crystals in her bladder. She's on antibiotics and vitamin c. Have to bring another urine sample in 10 days. She seems to be doing just fine. We bought her a crate that she doesn't mind. She loves to run around in the snow and be with people. Princess is doing well! UPDATE 1/3/09 - Princess is doing great! She adapted nicely to her new home and family. Our three cats are still feeling her out. Princess has gone after our cats in a playful manner, but they're not ready to romp around with her just yet. Princess rides very well and goes with us to most places. I take her to work when I can, mostly on the weekends. This morning we went to Hampton Beach NH and she ran around in the snow and sand. She is well behaved and trained. She will be seeing the vet next Monday as a general check up. I want to introduce her to my vet and have him give her the once over. Other than that, all is well. We are very happy with our new addition, I can't imagine life without my Princess. As stated in the adoption contact, I was to speak with Leann on 12/30/08. I called and left two messages (12/30 & 31), have not heard back (just an FYI). Thank you 12/23/08 - Princess has been adopted! 11/18/08 PM - The Animal Hospital just called to let us know that Princess is doing very well and is now all ready for a new home! Our Dr Alfred said she is a complete doll! Everyone loves her to pieces! She is heartworm/lyme negative and I will be picking her up late this afternoon to come home for some R&R and TLC. 11/18/08 AM - Well my vet called early this morning and was able to get Princess in today for her spay. When I took her in Dr Alfred found a lump on the inside of her right thigh. He will be removing it while she is under and will keep us posted as the day goes on. Poor Princess has never had a Heartworm test or preventative in her four years, so please keep your fingers crossed that she is heartworm negative and all goes well. 11/17/08 Well the Princess arrived on Saturday night! She is in great shape. She is at an ideal weight for her frame, her coat is beautiful, and she's still got the boxer silliness of a pup, even at four years old. She completely crate trained, house broken, and obedience trained. She would do anything to please you. She takes more time to warm up to some dogs than others. She is an alpha female all the way but that may change a bit when she is spayed. Princess has been an absolute doll with the kids and we love her already. The kids keep asking why we can't adopt her! LOL! I tell them one more dog is one less foster home and we wouldn't want to deprive any new family of the pleasure of having Princess in their lives or any boxer in need of a warm, safe, loving foster home. |
