LOKI
UPDATE 9/23/08 - Not to much to write here, Loki is doing very good, he has adjusted well to his
new home.
He is in great health, he is 65 pounds, but he is mostly muscle due to he is constsntly running all day with
his girl friend... our other boxer, Savannah, they keep each other in shape.
All in all, he is doing great.

UPDATE 8/23/08 - Loki is doing very well in his new home. He gets along really well with our other
boxer Savanaha, they do everything together and are pretty much inseparable.
Loki loves going on our boat and to the beach where he plays in the water and buries himself in the
sand. He isn't the best swimmer though, a little nervous when he can't touch bottom anymore.
He does have a mean streak in him towards other male dogs outside of his house, he even beat up my
parents dog, which had to have surgery.
Thats all in the past though, but he dosen't like dogs that aren't part of his group.
He is a big talker, will eat anything if given the chance, has the worst gas imaginable, loves to get his
bath, just dosen't like the bathroom, afraid to gone in on his own.He loves going for rides in the car, as
soon as you mention the car he gets all excited, and can't wait to go.
We go for a walk on the leash almost everynight and he is excellent on it, no pulling whatsoever and
obeys all commands.
All in all, he is a great dog, and he is doin very well.

7/22/08 - Loki has been adopted!

7/14/08 - Ok, so where are my people? I love my furry brothers and my foster Mom and Dad...
But, Where are my people?

I am a super sweet, energetic puppy boy who loves to play and run.  Mommy says I have
EXCELLENT re-call.  That means when you call my name I actually COME BACK!  something my
fur brother Lucky is not so good at. Lol!

I'd Love a brother or sister about 8-10 years old who will play ball with me and just play and MAYBE
let me sleep on their bed...I can't fit in the big bed here because Hercules and Lucky take up too much
room!  But, that means I get my choice of the puppy beds and I can stretch out.  I'm not a big fan of
cats.  In fact, I they annoy me and I just want to chase them.

I am a good boy in the house and do not make a mess... except when I take all of the toys out of the
toybox and leave my bones and stuffed animals laying around for my people to step on...then I want to
play, play, play!!!

I have put on a couple of pounds and I must say...I LOOK FABULOUS!  You should see my
noseprints on the mirror!

Did I mention I am the group spokesperson? I'm not a big barker.  I like to talk to my people. Daddy
says I sound like Chewbaka from Star Wars.  I can tell you a story and I am especially good at giving
my oopinion about what's on TV.  I even talk back to the parrot (who still looks like he'd be a fun
toy...).

So, if you are looking for a handsome, engaging, SMART boxer boy then I'm your man!

6/19/08 - Loki is doing very well.  He continues to be a high energy loveable mug! Tonight it was very
funny, he and Hercules were playing with a tennis ball and Loki went to take it out of Hercules' mouth
and instead bit Lucky's TAIL!  The indignant look on Lucky's face was priceless!  Loki continues to get
along well with the other 2 boxers here.  Neither of which are dominant.  Hercules is too spoiled to care
WHAT Loki wants and Lucky (SCBR) has become a big goof who will go along with anything that
involves playing and treats!

It is interesting that I can take Loki into the backyard (which is 4 acres now) and let him off the leash
and he stays within sight.  He actually will recall with no trouble at all. He does think that jumping on the
bed is a game.  He will bark and spin and tell you his story! LOL!! He continues to despise the cats
across the street.  They know he is confined and they intentionally torture him!

If you are looking for a "buddy" that will love you, play and is ESPECIALLY good at cuddling with you
then Loki is your man.  He would do well as the "man of the (animal) house" and he is good with older (
8-10year old or older) kids.  He is a little too energetic for small kids.Loki loves to learn new games
and would benefit from obedience school, he loves to please and just needs to know what you expect
of him.

5/28/08 - We had a lot of people over including several kids.  Our boy was home on leave from the
Marines for a quick visit (Girlfriends take precident over parents during leave!! Lol) before returning to
Iraq.  Loki was great with ALL of the people he met. Loki was very funny because one of the younger
kids wanted to play and she kept bringing Loki sticks.  Well he took the stick and never came back
with it so the little girl just kept bringing more sticks!!!  Loki had enough sticks in front of him for a good
size bonfire by the time she went home.
He continues to be a gentleman in the house.  He wants to be the dominant dog but Hercules is having
NONE of that.  If Loki can be the only dog or with a submissive dog that would probably be best.
Loki has had a couple of small disputes with Lucky over a bone or toy.  Loki does not seem to
understand "sharing".  None of this is at meal time it is usually the outside toys and the ocassional bone
or treat that causes conflict for him.

Loki has put on a little weight and looks very good.  He does seem to be allergic to something outside.
As I mentioned earlier, he was out with us for several hours and when we came in he had hives all over
his belly.  We live along a river and it could be poison ivy or any number of grass or bugs.  When we
are in the front yard he is fine laying about on the grass "sunbathing" he doesn't get the hives.

Loki would love to be the dog in your life. Hey, the mailman even likes him!  The mailman said Loki's
tongue is so long he could kiss you from across the street! Won't you consider this sweet energetic boy
to join your family?

5/19/08 - Loki is here and is doing fine.  He is a skinny but muscular boy at 63 pounds.  Cats are a
definite NO for him from what I've seen of his behavior with the neighbor's cats outside.  He too is
VERY interested in the parrot but I keep the bird in his cage while the dogs are playing. He is fine with
my dogs except the ocassional growling over food or bones.  When I take him out to run I do so on the
70 foot runner because my new neighbors have a tiny dog, and every other person near me seems to
have "outdoor" cats!  Not to mention the family of Fox & Deer in the back yard.  Like every other
foster he has calmed down after having been in a kennel and loves a home enviroment.  He loves ALL
people but he may be TOO ACTIVE for small children.  Loki would knock them over only to be able
to lick them more!!!  He is a very sweet dog that loves to play.  Loki loves a soft bed and he is even
willing to let a human take up a LITTLE bit of space once he finds a soft spot he likes... He would
benefit from more obedience training.  He does listen and he will come when you call his name, but, he
needs work on leash manners and not jumping up to greet people.

5/13/08 - Due to no fault of his own, poor Loki has come back to rescue today to find another home.
Updates soon from his foster home.

3/2/08 - Loki was adopted!

2/17/08 - Loki has been a wonderful companion the last four days!  I have been a bit under the weather
and my husband went to the NASCAR race, leaving me with the three dogs.  I was a bit worried at
first having all three dogs by myself.  BUT they were wonderful!  Loki has been great and is very
concerned about me.  Where ever I go -- he goes.  I do feel bad because there has not been much
playtime but he has been content just being lazy watching "chick flicks"  and napping frequently.  Hey
what more could a dog ask for?  Loki continues to be a wonderful dog.............he is very happy go
lucky!  He is let outside without a leash on to do his business and watches to make sure I am there --
then RUNS back as quick as can be.  I must say I do believe he is a prince in training b/c God forbid
his paws get wet from the puddles!  He has put on some weight and he looks really really healthy.  He
loves sunbathing when the sun is out in our bay window.  Loki is anxiously awaiting for his forever
home........................if you are looking for a dog to love you unconditionally and wag half his body
from excitement when he sees you, then Loki is the dog for you!

2/1/08 - Loki is doing great!  I bought him a chip rough hide and he thought he died and went to
heaven!  My dogs devour theirs within 10 minutes; Loki ate his very slowly and savored every minute
of it!  We have been letting him off the leash in short intervals and he has been doing very well.  He
stays within sight and loves to play with the other dogs.  I had a candle party the other night with about
12 people at the house and Loki was a perfect gentleman!  He greeted everyone with a HUGE butt
wag and went on his merry way.  The other day he ran out of water though and drank out of the
TOILET!  YUCK!  So I would suggest just to make sure your toilet seats are down and the water dish
is always full!

1/22/08 - Loki continues to be such a joy.  He is hilarious as he "hops" through the snow.  It has been
very cold outside so Loki goes outside does his business and comes right back in!  (He's smart!)  He is
a male that stays in one place to pee and does not feel it necessary to stop at every opportunity to mark
his territory.  We have had hm outside playing with our dogs and he is great.  We leave his leash on and
stays very close to us and comes when he is called!  He still needs to know where my husband and I
are at all times.  He does not jump anymore when my husband or I enter the room.  He finds a bone to
pick up and put in his mouth to control his excitement.  The last few days he thinks it is a game to find
my slippers and carry them around in his mouth.  At night, he will talk to you or sing to you to get your
attention to snuggle.  He likes to do this little nibble nibble nibble when he is excited -- you just need to
remind him to stop and he will.  At eating time he has not growled at any of my dogs.  He is learning to
take breaks when I ask him to and knows when I tap the dish and say "ok" that he can continue to eat.
We have only had one incident where he has eaten too fast and thrown up.  That was my faulth though
because I was trying to get my dogs inside.  We have tried working on the "down" command more but
no success.  Loki does a great job and knows he needs to sit before eating and before he will get his
leash on for a walk.  Loki does sleep with us at night at the bottom at the bed.  He is a good sleeper
that stays curled up all night (my dogs are a little upset at the fact that Loki can sleep on the bed but
they can't  :-) )  Loki will make a great addition to any home................

1/16/08 - We had Loki now for 4 days and he is adjusting quite well.  He still continues to constantly
make sure we are within 2 feet of him.  We took all three dogs out for a walk last night and they all
walk in unision....it is kind of funny.  Yesterday we got a bunch of snow so my husband and I decided
to take Loki out by himself and see how he responded (on a leash).  We did let the leash go and he
insisted on staying right by our side.  I threw a couple of snowballs and he waited to make sure it was
okay before he chased them.  It was funny watching him "hop" through the snow.  He got hit by a
snowball and then hid behind my husband unsure of the snowball game.  He has done great with his
crate training during the day --- no accidents.  I leave him a bone with some frozen peanutbutter in it.
Although, last night I had to go out and I told Loki to "kennel up" and my dogs went in and Loki just sat
there waiting for his treat!  He is house broken -- no accidents!  We are currently working on his
"greeting."  He gets SO EXCITED when he meets new people he has been jumping up.  My husband
and I can't complain because he doesn't exhibit any other bad behavior.  Last but not least, we are still
trying to fatten the boy up!

1/14/08 - Here are some pictures of Loki.  He is adjusting well......Today was the first day back to
work and it was tough leaving him.  (I guess he is preparing me for when Frank and I decide to have
children!)  He follows Frank and I around everywhere ...I think he is afraid of being left.  He seems
fearful of the bathroom - he will not come in at all.  He slept with us again last night ....he curls up at the
end of the bed.  He is just TOO CUTE
!

1/13/08 -
We picked up Loki last night and he was so excited to see us!  He was a great car rider.
Loki met my dogs on nuetral grounds and was very eager to play with them.  He followed us around all
night - he needed to know where we were at all times.  Night time was a bit difficult.  We put him in his
crate and cried and cried and cried.  I let him out and he slept fine with us and the dogs.  There have
been no accidents in the house.....besides his messy drinking habits :-)  Today he was very
well-behaved.  We went on 2 walks and he was very interested in his surroundings.  He walks excellent
on the leash.  His back end flys out of control with excitement when he sees people.  He barked at
other dogs on the walk because he thought he could play with them all.  Loki is a lover!  He needs to
fatten up a bit but I am sure that will happen in no time.  He already knows the "sit" command and
"shake."  When Loki eats I have to let him take a bit and then take it away to give him time to chew and
digest.  He has been inhaling his food.  He is really good about though.  The only bad habit I have seen
is once in a while he will jump on the windowsill to look out the window...we are working on this.  He
has had a long day following me around and he has finally crashed!  He will make a great addition to his
forever home.
