LEXIE
UPDATE 3/12/09 - Lexi has become a really terrific dog.  We did have a few issues that had to be
worked on but once we got the hang of the pack leader mentality, things fell into place.  She still tries to
be the lead dog, but has learned that she is not.  Our big boy, Samson, has certainly been a great help in
showing Lexi how to behave.  It is just wonderful to see the two of them racing around the yard just
being dogs!  They always know exactly where the other is and what they are doing.
When Lexi was in obedience training the trainer said she was so easy to work with that he felt she had
had previous training.  Still tries to get to Pablo our cat, but isn't agressive, just very interested.
Lexi loves car rides.  Matter of fact, we had to work hard (and still do) to keep her from jumping in any
vehicle that has an opening; being extremely fast it can be a challenge to beat her to the open door.
Even goes through the window (my mustang) as long as it is totally open or jumps in as I am getting in
the car.
She is still a little hyper and full of boxer energy but exercise helps and I think with age (she's about
2+)she will settle in just fine.
Thank you SCBR for enabling Lexi to come into our lives.

6/23/08 - Lexi has been adopted!

6/14/08 - We have to make a change to Lola's name. Liz emailed me this morning and told me to try the
name Lexi. Well, it was like magic. Lexi ran to me immediately wagging her little tail.   Thanks,  Denise

6-12-08 - Hi! Lola has been with us for exactly a week. She really is a good girl. She has gotten over all
her crate issues (being afraid of it) she goes right in. She seems to be a watch dog for the front door.
She knows the minute anyone is in the driveway or at the front door. She seems to love Ruby and Ruby
certainly loves her. Ruby runs to Lola's crate every morning to get her for breakfast. We had a friend
over that has two little girls and Lola was a complete lady with them. We were not sure if she was good
with kids or not - but now we know she is! She didn't jump or anything. Lola has the BIGGEST Brown
eyes you have ever seen. Her lashes are thicker than mine. She loves to sit right next to my husband
when he's watching TV - Ruby gets a little jealous so she comes looking for me. Lola has had a steady
diet of Royal Canin Boxer food and seems to enjoy it. The first couple of days she was drinking water
like crazy. Apparently, in the shelter you have limited water but maybe now because she knows its
always there she has calmed down quite a bit. Lola is such a princess with a beautiful face and
disposition.. She will be an asset to any family! and we will really miss her......

6-9-08 - It has been 5 days since I picked Lola up and brought her to our home. She has quite adjusted
in these few days. I have been waiting to give her a bath until she was really settled in. Well today she
got her first Oatmeal Bath and boy does Lola love the water. She is eating for us with no problem and
sure loves her Kong with Peanut butter inside as her crating treat. Lola is sleeping through the night with
no crying at all. Lola knows her commands as in sit and stay. Lola is a very cuddling up kind of dog and
very sweet. Some family will be so lucky to have her in their lives. I can bet that you won't regret loving
this fabulous girl!

6/7/08 - Lola is such a charm. The first night she was frightened being in a new house and with a new
family. I took the advice from Jill and so many wonder people from SCBR and filled a Kong with
Peanut Butter and froze it. She went into the crate with no hesitation and no crying at all. She slept
through the night. She is deninitely house trained. We have bells hanging on the back door. We had
them when Ruby was a pup to alert us when she had to go. We introduced Lola to the bells and she has
been ringing them ever since. She has such a Beautiful face with those BIG BROWN eyes. Lola is a
very loving boxer. She loves to be right next to you at all times. The family who adopts her will be very
happy with her - We can assure you of this. Time for Naps..........

6-6-08 - Lola arrived! She is a beautiful sweet dog. She is getting along with Ruby pretty good. I waited
until she settled in and gave her Dinner. I put a little yogurt on top to welcome her to her new foster
home. She has the prettiest face I have ever seen. She had her nose in Ruby's Toy box and picked quite
a few things out to play with. She found a rawhide bone and took it ever so privately to a corner in the
living room and just enjoyed it! She is ever so sweet - She won't be here long!  More updates to come.
