KOTALIK => Diesel
NOTE ** Because I am still a baby, I will only be placed in a home where someone is home often, such as
retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parents, etc.

UPDATE 4/1/08 - We are so happy to have Diesel as part of our family. He has adjusted well and did
so very quickly!
We were dog sitting a family dog when we first adopted Diesel and we decided to keep her around
because she is very helpful in the training process (Her name is Molly)and Diesel just loves pestering her.

We have taken him everywhere we go and he has become very social and enjoys playing with all of the
friendly dogs he's met. People cannot believe how lovey he is. Our friend just got a puppy too, and all
their puppy wants to do is chew on people. Diesel on the other hand wants nothing more than to kiss
them till they're covered in puppy drool! He's so sweet!
He has been to the Vet. and the only problem was that he had worms (which is normal for a baby)
other than that he's healthy and growing like a weed.
His crate training has not gone very far, he sleeps with us. But during the day he relaxes and plays in his
crate, and i feed him there. So he is getting used to it. He is doing well with outside potty training. After
the second week we had him he started scratching at the door and if i don't hear him scratch he will
either cry or come find me. I was very impressed with how fast he picked that up! I'm certainly not
going to miss the surprise "gifts" he used to leave hidden all over for us to find.
We've taken a trip with him already, we went to Pennsylvania to visit his Grandma. He travels in the car
alot with us anyway (pretty much anywhere we go) so he did really well in the car on the 8 hour drive.
He got to meet 5 cats and 3 dogs while we were there and he was happier than ever. He is definety
shaping up to be a very social little boy.
His obedience training is coming up and we can't wait to see what that will be like!
As far as fun stories go, there are soooooooo many!
One of the funniest things was when we first got him he couldn't figure out how his paws made things
move. It scared him if he would hit something, he just couldn't figure out why things were running away
from him. He was so funny! He did this with the snow every time he pounced he'd send a shower of
snow out and he'd pounce on that. He'd end up running around in circles, and it was just the cutest
thing. Our lives are anything but dull now.
So thank you SCBR and especially thanks to his foster family for taking such good care of him.

3/1/08 - Kotalik has been adopted!

1/31/08 - Jingle's boys will be 4 weeks old  tomorrow and will officially be ready for adoption on
February 29th when they  turn 8 weeks old. They will go to the vet for their first puppy vaccine in 2
weeks, we will have a fecal done as well and deworm them if  necessary.Since the pups were born in
the Buffalo  area and it's hockey season my daughter decided they should be named  after Buffalo
Sabres players. So we have
Kotalik (Kota), Maxim and Miller.  The pups are very boxery (we can guarantee 50%) and for the
other half of their  parentage well, they will keep us guessing for sure. I would venture a guess and  say
their daddy was a boxer mix. All the boys have square, wrinkly muzzles and  boxery heads. They are
also quite vocal (another boxer trait). My neighbor came  over to see them today and she couldn't
believe the barks/growls/grunts were  from the puppies. Kota is the fearless leader of the group. He  is
the first to venture out and explore his new world. This includes climbing  into the dog toy bin, out the
other side and under the couch only to get stuck  and scream bloody murder until his foster mom saved
him from the throws of  death. OK, this was a total
dramatization on Kota's part. If panic wouldn't have  set in he could have simply "backed" out of his
predicament. Maybe we should  chance the first sentence to say "sometimes" fearless leader. He is a
riot and  will keep you laughing (and in great shape by having to constantly move  furniture to save him).
Kota is fawn with a black mask, a little splash of white  on his nose and a slight bit of light brindle on his
legs/body.More Updates coming soon!
