UPDATE 4/10/08 - I can't believe 2 months have gone by already. I can't remember not having
Dodger in our lives, he has just blended in with the family and our routine. He loves going on car rides
even if it's just around the corner to get a newspaper. He is doing very well with our obedience class,
he definetly has improved in the three weeks we have gone and I know by the end of the course he will
be doing everything he should be. I thank everyone involved with SCBR you all do a wonderful thing
by helping get these guys to better homes and a better life.
Thank you all again. We will keep everyone updated.
UPDATE 3/9/08 -Jimbo (Dodger) is doing great my children absolutely love him. He is wonderful with
them and just full of energy. He loves to run around the back yard and chases everything that moves.
He is truly a blessing to our family and we love him.
2/10/08 - Jimbo has been adopted!
1/29/08 - Jimbo has made it to the Boxer Bungalow on the Links thanks to Roz and Dick who visited
this poor guy in the shelter and delivered him to me on Saturday. My daughter and I made it to the
PetSmart and had him bathed before we brought him home. He was one of the worst smellin dogs
we've had in a while. Boy was he happy when we picked him up 60 minutes later. He cost is so shiny
and he smells good. Jimbo has a horrible story of abandonment and mistreatment, but you'd never
know it. He settled in so fast my kids think he's been here for weeks. Jimbo is a tall, fawn and white
Boxer boy. His ears are natural and he has a little longer dock than you normally see, but it fits his long
and lanky body. Jimbo needs to be neutered which will happen on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 8:00
am. I say this because when he first arrived I thought -
here we go- the big stud was going to claim his territory, but after a few No's he has been so well
behaved. So wish him luck on Monday. Jimbo is the sweetest guy. What an amazing disposition
considering all he has been through. He just loves to be hugged and rubbed and cuddled. He's like a
big baby. He is super friendly with everyone. Here's the amazing thing - yesterday I was working from
home and Jimbo put his paws on the end of the bed, but wouldn't get up. I even invited him - nope!
So I pulled him up and he just couldn't get
comfortable. I think he was probably NEVER allowed on the furniture under penalty of severe
consequences. Here at the Bungalow - I don't really have a problem with it, but I'm not going to teach
him either. Whomever adopts him can decide if they want him up on the bed or couch. I hope they
decide to have him
as a cuddly bug - cause he's so soft and warm. How lucky they will be to make that decision. Jimbo is
calm and so so easy to handle. He sits on command and gives paw and will be okay on the leash when
he stops wigglin'. He just gets so excited that you are taking him with you. Jimbo is eating 3 meals per
day as he is very very thin. You can count his ribs and see his bony butt. So not fair, but we are having
fun feeding him and he is so appreciative.Jimbo is very interested in the outdoor critters. We back to
the woods and the gold course and we have a fox that lives in a sand trap and many many deer and
squirrels. I think with training he may be okay with cats, but I'm not sure. Get your apps in for Jimbo
cause he will be gone quickly.
