| 10/27/08 - Sweet Miss Jayna arrived several days ago as an owner surrender to a local shelter. She is severely underweight and has a bad case of Demodectic mange for which she is on two different medications. Despite her background of apparent neglect, this girl is the sweetest little girl I have ever met. She has won the hearts of just about every person she has come in contact with. She is extremely tolerant when it's time for her medications and she seems to especially like children - she loves to give hugs and kisses. She wants to make friends with any creature - 2 or 4 legged she comes in contact with and had no problem when she encountered my cat. Jayna has some basic manners, such as "sit" but will only perform when tempted with treats. She walks beautifully on a leash, although I don't think she has had much leash time, based upon the way she tilts her neck trying to figure out what it is. She also had no idea how to climb stairs. She has gotten very good at going up, but still needs encouragement going down. For now Miss Jayna seems grateful to have a warm loving place to rest and recover. She is a love who wants to be on top of or next to one of us at all times, yet will easily go into her crate & curl up when it's time for us to leave the house. Once this little girl gets healthy I know she will be a beautiful addition to just about any home - she has a heart of gold. |
