| 10/8/08 - The Log Cabin has a new visitor. Jasmine and I met last night for the first time. She is a beautiful fawn with white on her chest. She also has a quarter sized place on her head that needs to be removed. She is only 7 months old and she is really a big, tall girl. She is also your typical "dog from hell"! Cute little puppy, allowed to do whatever she wants, no training of any kind. Now that she is much larger, uncontrollable, etc. she had to go! She WAS wearing a 2 inch wide collar which allowed her lots of leverage to pull wherever she wished to go. That collar is now history. I am not allowing her to run loose in the yard. Instead she is on the long lead and I have control. The first thing is to teach her to "come" and we will be working on that and crate training. She doesn't like the crate, but I am boss and she is finding that out. She has been refusing to enter the crate and planting her feet! But she has wound up in the crate each time! More later as we get better acquainted. |
