UPDATE 10/29/09 - Hi - just wanted to give our final update on our 2 furry children.
My husband and I cannot believe it's been a year since we adopted Nacho and
Milo. We also have a 9 month old baby so things are hectic to say the least! But
the dogs are doing great. They love to go on walks with Mommy and Daddy and
baby. When I say to Nacho, "go give the baby kisses", he walks right up to Josie
and licks her face! Milo is still leery of her but every now and then when she's not
looking he will go up and smell her. She loves to watch them run around the
house, she actually laughs out loud! They are in trouble when she learns how to
walk. :) Nothing makes Nacho and Milo happier than when we have visitors. All I
have to say is "Hey guys, guess what?", and they immediately run around and
Milo starts barking because they know that means someone is coming to the
house. They also have completely taken over our bed at night. We could make
them sleep on their dog bed but we don't have the heart! Needless to say Nacho
and Milo are spoiled dogs and love their forever home.

UPDATE 4/19/09 - Everything is still going great with Nacho and Milo. My husband
and I just had our first child in January and we were so worried about how the
dogs would react, but things couldn't have gone any better. They took to the baby
so well! Milo was very curious right off the bat but Nacho was a little hesitant at
first. Now the both of them are always wanting to lick her hands and face,
although I don't know if our daughter loves the attention! :) We make sure that the
dogs still get plenty of attention from us and also from anyone that visits. Some
relatives of ours even bring treats for the dogs every time they visit. Basically
these dogs are being spoiled by everyone. We are one big happy family here!

UPDATE 1/19/09 - Everything is still going great with Nacho and Milo, although I
think they're getting sick of the snow at this point! Nacho loved it at first but now
would rather be inside playing Tug of War with Milo. Xmas was a lot of fun with the
dogs. Man, do they love having company over! The more people the better! Don't
know if I've mentioned this before, but Milo uses Nacho as a pillow, literally. It's
the funniest thing I've ever seen. He sleeps right on his back. And it doesn't even
faze Nacho! They're such good dogs. We're looking forward to this summer and
time spent in the backyard with the 2 of them running around, and trips to visit
family and friends.

UPDATE 12/20/08 - Where should I begin? Let's just say at this point we can't
imagine our lives w/o them! We couldnt have asked for this adoption to go any
better than it did and these 2 guys are best friends. Milo likes to sleep on top of
Nacho, it's hysterical! They have been such a great addition to our family.
Everyone loves to come and visit them. They're so good with people and other
dogs. Nacho gets a little too excited and wants to jump all over everyone who
comes in but we're working on that and he's getting much better. They've just
completed obedience training (paperwork to be mailed to you) and that has really
helped a lot. They both have learned to listen to us when we say no and can
follow some commands, although Nacho is better at the commands than Milo. :)
We just had a snowstorm last night, over a foot of snow and Nacho was jumping
around in it like a rabbit! Milo on the other hand does not like the bad weather and
watched from the window. They both have this funny game they play:
Milo stays on the porch and Nacho goes down into the yard. Then Nacho tries
running back up the stairs onto the porch and Milo chases him off and Nacho
runs back down the stairs. They do this over and over. Just imagine an 18 pound
pug chasing a 71 pound boxer off a porch! Milo is a tough little guy! Their health is
great and we keep them active with walks and a lot of playing. We really could go
on and on about these two, we love them so much and we're so happy they came
into our lives.

UPDATE 11/19/08 - Can't believe it's been one month since we've had these
pooches (Nacho (was Harley Boy) and Milo (Pug))!
They met on 10/19/08, and it's like they've known each other forever!  They sleep
in the same bed each night (even though they have 3 different beds to choose
from).
We got them to the Vet about a week after we adopted them and they got a clean
bill of health.
We started obediance training last week.  Nacho is the largest dog in the class
(mostly small puppies).  They get VERY excited when they see other dogs.  The
class was a little chaotic at first, but both did well by the end.  I can already notice
a difference in their walks at night.  They let my wife and I lead them, instead of
the other way around!
They love their new home, we can just tell that they are feeling very comfortable.
They love to play chase around the house! And they love having a lot of people
around, they get very excited when company comes to visit.  They're two of the
friendliest dogs I've ever encountered.
By next month we should be done with the obediance training and hopefully will
have some great updates for you!

10/19/08 - Harley Boy has been adopted!

10/6/08 - I've uploaded a bunch of pics of Harley boy discovering my back yard
today.  He's just too cool... which, I guess means I won't have him long.  He's got
this glint in his eye I've seen in my six year old niece. He  spent last evening with
his head laying on my chest nestled between  my.... well you get it. He didn't try to
get on the bed, but claimed  his spot on the couch.

He's obviously not crate trained, or it wasn't a good thing when he was. He
wanted NONE of it this morning when I had to go to work, so I just hoped for the
best. He was on his spot on the couch and everything was right where it was
supposed to be when I got home. This dog LOVES to be outside! He and my
aussie shepard played tag, at full sprint, circling the back yard, for probably 10
minutes straight. They'd tussle, rest, then start again. He leaps about 5 feet in the
air, straight up, like a gazelle, when he's running. He's not going to be an
apartment dog.

I sure am glad I was warned of the velcro and head resting thing right off, and the
great advice of leaving them alone to discover the territory themselves.

10/5/08 - Harley Boy has finally made it!  The poor guy. He's been in a car all day
and been transferred from vehicle to vehicle. He left this AM and had his head out
the window as we pulled into my place. I can only imagine the temperature
change being just one more he'd have to get used to. All the "tricks" of introducing
him into a new house and to my own dog kinda went out the window as soon as
we got home in the dark. I guess chewies are like jello, a great way to make new
friends. Now He's asleep on my foot  and my aussie is asleep right next to him.
He's super sweet (aren't they all?!?) and always smiling. He's a husky boy and
doesn't show any side effects from being neutered last week. He's just wiped out
right now. (He only wanted to chase a ball twice) ... and he wants nothing to do
with the kennel, so tomorrow should be interesting when I have to leave for a few
hours for work.
