| UPDATE 12/27/09 - Georgia is doing great! I can't believe that we adopted her a year ago.It seems like we've had her forever. We couldn't picture life without her.We just love her so much. She is a very intelligent girl. She will give you high 5's and hand shakes without you saying a word when she sees her dog treats in your hand. She also loves to go for rides in our minivan with us.Georgia also knows when we are taking her to the dog park that is located a short drive from our house. It's like she knows the street that it's on.Georgia also likes to watch television. If there is a program on that has kids or animals on it she will just sit in the recliner chair and watch it for minutes at a time. For the most part Georgia seems to be healthy which is a really good thing. The only thing that she gets is white discharge from her eyes that I have eye medicine for. That's about it for miss Georgias one year update.Happy New Year everyone! UPDATE 3/9/09 - Georgia graduated from obedience training on March 01, 2009. She did very well in her classes. But Miss Georgia is too smart for her own good. She learned how to open her crated door by using her nose! At bed time Georgia goes into her crate on her own and when we go to bed we latch the crate door. She sleeps through the night okay but when morning comes she whines to let us know that she has to go potty so as I'm getting dressed I hear her playing with the latch then the next thing I know she comes running into my bedroom and jumps up on the bed looking at me as to say "look what I did mom",all proud of herself. She has mastered the art of getting out of her latched crate! Even though Georgia has graduated from obedience training everyday she is still practicing what she did learn plus we try and teach her something new.Georgia also loves to go to the dog park just around the corner from where we live. She has made new friends that she likes to play catch me if you can.She just has a good time, but when it's time to go home she is just so tired that she just goes straight to her crate to take a nap.LOL. Our family loves Georgia so much that she is always getting hugs, belly rubs and kisses! UPDATE 2/9/09 - Georgia is adjusting quite well in our home. She is loved more than words can say!She gets along with our other dogs. They tend to get a little bossy with Georgia but she steps back and lets them have there space if they don't want to be bothered.Georgia is putting on some weight which is good because before her ribs were showing abit. She has a very good appetite. She loves her doggy treats that she has to work for by practicing her obedience training at home. She is doing quite well at her training classes. She loves her doggy classmates. When we walk through the door and she sees her doggy friends she does her boxer wiggle. We have 3 more classes to go till graduation.Yea!!!.I think she is at the top of her class.(It's not because mom is being predjudice either) LOL. Mom is very proud of her girl! I think Georgia going to obedience training has made her a better family member. When her classes are over we will continue to teach her different things because I think that she is quite intelligent and has the potential to learn more things! Georgia loves to play fetch with her tennis ball and she loves to play a gentle game of tug of war with her braided rope with a tennis ball attached at the end. Georgia loves to go for rides with us in our mini-van.She is well behaved when we take her with us. I must say she does get a bit inquizative and nosy looking out the window as we travel by things. 12/08 - Georgia has been adopted! 12/2/08 - I picked up Georgia Friday afternoon from her owner who realized she needed more attention and time then he could give her right now. Georgia is a flashy fawn with one white and one fawn ear. She's just the cutest thing ever! She has the boxer personality and loves to play with her ball. We slowly introduced her to our 2 boxers and Boston Terrier through the baby gate and the whole time he boxer nub just wagged and wagged she couldn't wait to meet them. We had no doubt or concerns about our males meeting her but our 8 year old female we were unsure. I am happy to say that after some growling they are now running in the yard together and our Boston Max sleeps next to her at night or nap time after playing so much. Georgia is the sweetest little girl with lots of love to give, she loves to cuddle and if you don't watch it you will lose your spot in the bed. Georgia will be a wonderful addition to a family that can give her all that play time she needs. So if you think you can provide Georgia the forever home she needs, get your applications in quick because she is definitely a keeper! |
