FRANK N. STEIN
4/9/08 - Frank was neutered yesterday and is coming around quite well this afternoon.  His surgery was
more extensive than normal as one of his testicles did not drop normally.  I was worried about him last
night as he wouldn't eat or drink, but today he's feeling much better and eating and drinking normally.
His weight is 53 lbs, but he is tall and lanky and needs more meat on his bones.  We will get the results
of his other tests by week's end.

There are not enough good things I can say about him.  He is totally housetrained, not destructive in any
way, likes two-legged people, enjoys rides in the car,  good food, and a nice warm bed to share with
his fur friend (and of course his two-legged friends).  For a one-year old, he is gentle, does not jump on
people nor does he charge the door when someone rings the bell.  He does not beg for food while you
are eating, but may check the counter out on occasion.  The one thing that you have to be careful of
with Frank (which obedience training will certainly help) is his desire to bolt out of the house without a
collar and leash.

I am pleased to report that the vacuum cleaner gives him no concern, and the garage door does not
intimidate him any longer.  Interestingly, though, he still will not come into the bathroom.  Our very first
foster was the same way, and we are trying to build his confidence.  Sometimes you know things
happened in their lives that probably shouldn't have.

We think Frank would be great as an only dog or with a four-legged buddy.  We thought we would
share a picture of Frank waiting at the front door for his forever family.  Please get your applications in.
This boy will not be around long.  He has enhanced our lives in the short time he has been here -- and I
know he will do the same for you.

I mentioned that his previous owner calls to see how he is doing.  Because we haven't been able to find
a young person to borrow, she said he was good with children 10 and over. She did not have him with
young children so I am trying to rent a 2-legged young person (LOL) to see how he does.  I can't
imagine him being anything but gentle.

4/4/08 - Frank N. Stine came to us Wednesday evening as an owner surrender.  The young girl who
surrended him adopted him from a woman in October who was not feeding him much.  This girl said he
has agained 10 pounds on 2 meals a day, but still needs about 10 pounds more.  Due to her schedule of
work and school, she was not able to give Frank the time he needed.  She cares for him very much,
and she has called a couple of times to check up on him.

He is a delight to have in the house.  For a young dog, he is pretty calm -- no jumping, no chewing, just
a love.  And, oh yes, he gives great Boxer kisses. Frank does bark at things that pass by, but he just
barks -- he's better than a burgular alarm!

He will go in to be neutered on Tuesday at which time, the vet will update him on his shots and test his
stool to be sure he is just underfed and does not have any sort of worms. Don't let his name scare you.
He's a great pooch. Frank does need some leash training which I've already started working on.  I am
able to walk both he and Abby together with no problem.

If you are looking for a sweet, well adjusted boy, Frank should definitely be on your list.  I don't believe
he will be available long!  The latest picture we got was tonight while I was cooking Frank (on the left)
and Abby very intently hoping I would drop something.

4/2/08 - Frank (better known as WiggleButt) came to visit us.  He's quite a handsome devil and is very
sweet.  He is very nervous right now, and we are giving him his space.  He ran around the back yard,
ate a little, and is now resting with Dick on the couch.

His last owner really cared for him and has already called me to see how he was doing. She said his
previous owner didn't feed him very well, and he has gained 10 pounds since being with her.  He still
needs a bit of weight to fill him out.
