FIREKRACKER => Zeva
UPDATE 12/30/08 - Zeva is still doing great. We are all enjoying the extra quality time we can spend
together during the Holidays.
Went to our friend's pet store the other day and took Zeva. She managed to attract a crowd of people
- they absolutely loved her boxer personality. We made sure to spread the work about "Second
Chance Boxer Rescue" and hope that it will generate some interest and find some good new homes for
our little friends.
Happy Holidays to all of you.

UPDATE 11/23/08 - Zeva is doing great and fully adjusted to her new surroundings. We had her
spayed about 3 weeks ago,and she is fully recovered (only took a couple of days for her to bounce
right back to her typical happy and energetic boxer personality).
Zeva and Teddy (our 15-year old cat)have become best friends - a day without playing with Teddy is
just not right - the next second you look over they are both curled up and taking a power nap
together...gotta get ready for next round :-) Happy Holidays to all of you!

UPDATE 10/7/08 - September was somewhat a crazy month for us, so we are a bit behind in our
updates. We had to make an emergency trip to Ohio and decided to take Zeva with us. We didn't want
to leave her behind in a kennel or with friends, as it has only been two months since she became part of
the family and we didn't want to put her through any stress....she handled the trip extremely well and
was happy to be with us.
A week later, we are back in CT and surprise, surprise...we find blood stains on our kitchen and
bathroom floor. Thought she had hurt herself but quickly found out that she was in heat....HEAT??!!
Welcome to two weeks of diaper hell. We got through it and will make an appointment with our vet to
take care of that little problem.
Zeva is definitely part of the family now - no doubt about it! She has been filling a huge void from when
we lost our old boxer girl to cancer, and trust me she was a tough act to follow, but believe me Zeva is
doing a fantastic job; the girl certainly has a lot of personality and so much love to give! She is getting
along with our cat Teddy and the other day I found them curled up together in her bed - they are best
buds now - how great is that!
Update to follow next month - take care!!

UPDATE 8/11/08 - We have absolutely fallen in love with this boxer girl. Goofy and good hearted with
all the boxer qualities you could ever ask for...
Since the day we brought Zeva home, she went through the house, like she had lived here forever. Ran
upstairs and greeted our 14-year old cat with a big wet kiss (he almost got whiplash :-)....at that point
he realized it wasn't our old boxer girl Pia, and headed for a hiding place. But only for a few days; now
they are sleeping on the same bed at night, so no problems there.
Started obedience class about three weeks ago. Doing good - loves to socialize with all the other dogs
(SO MUCH FUN!!) - especially her new friend Mable...tough to stay focused, due to her age, but
once she puts her mind to it, she is quick at learning....
Zeva is already a big part of our family and we are very thankful we got the opportunity to adopt her!

7/10/08 - Kracker has been adopted!

7/4/08 - Under Kracker's eyes, under each eye actually.......... there are little black tears.... dots that
look like black tear drops.... very cool......

7/3/08 - I"M FREE!!!!!!! Just in time for Independence Day!!  Special thanks to Denise at Poodle
Palace in Roselle Park, NJ for telling us about this little girl.

Please welcome FireKracker to the SCBR foster family.  This is truly one lucky girl. She was a stray in
a high kill shelter and SCBR sprung her in the nick of time!   Kracker is one sweet little girl.....  she is
mannered , does not jump on you,  likes her crate and appears house trained.  Kracker has met my 4
guys through the crate and seems excited about playing with the resident boxer Madison.  They did a
meet n greet through the crate and play bowed for each other.  She had an opportunity to meet some
cats. She was curious and gentle.
This girl would be a wonderful addition to any home because she is so well-mannered. I'm betting she
could be placed with younger children. I will introduce her to some little ones in the next couple of
days...
