DONZI
UPDATE 8/10/08 - Hello, we are a little late I believe with this update - sorry.  We had a little medical
worry with Donzi, he had begun coughing/and xrays showed some bronchial issues.  After an
unsuccessful round of steriods we were getting ready to have the scope sent in to check his lungs, etc.
Well lo and behold after a particularly bad coughing fit out popped a mucus covered bead  -  and our
coughing has disappeared.  Our vet feels he may have gotten it lodged up over his pallette (sp?) and it
was causing the mucus production and bronchial irritation.  Regardless, what a relief!!!!!!  Our bedroom
pillows have now had a makeover and are minus their fancy beaded trim!!!!!
Other than that excitement Donzi has just been a lovey, very busy following Daisy around and staring at
the new pet chickens!!!!!!

UPDATE 6/26/08 - All is going well for Donzi!!!  He seems to have finally put on a pound or two (new
sensitive system food!!!).  The vet feels he has acid reflux, but the new diet seems to have settled his
belly right down.  Poor thing has some allergies too (sneezing/boogey eyes), but hopefully with spring
passing that will settle down.  He continues to be a big, goofy, love  -  and we new he was tall and
lanky, but he can stretch out to take up an entire king size bed!!!!  He seems to be coming into his own
and his young boxer ways are starting to show  -  more playfull and sure of himself, testing the water to
see what he can steal from the kids rooms to make his toys, a little destruction (two kitchen chairs have
fallen prey when the dynamic duo was alone one afternoon!!).  He is coming along just beautifully and
we look forward to watching him grow up  -  he seems to have missed out on a lot of play/silly/baby
time when he was younger and we are enjoying giving him the chance to do all the silly young boxer
things he should do!!!!!

UPDATE 5/26/08 - Hello, Donzi is doing great  -  you really did a good job he has been the perfect
match for our family.  He seems to be right at home and he and Daisy have come to terms and all is love
in dog world.  He is the sweetest most docile boy and has been a friend to one and all, big and small
that have come to our house.  He has even helped our boxer girl learn to walk nicely on a leash as he is
a pro!!!!!  (maybe he can help her with her overenthusiastic greetings!!!!)  He has met the vet and
passed with flying colors - he does have some issues with vomiting undigested food but we have
elevated his dish to chair height (he is such a TALL boy) and that has seemed to help resolve that.
Donzi and Daisy went for a bath together and spent a few hours at daycare as that is the facility we will
use when/if we ever go away.  Everyone loved him and he made several new dog friends.  Donzi has
also made his first trip to the dog park - he was full of boxer smiles and crazy running - and be-still my
heart Ms. Daisy came to his rescue when he bit off more than he could chew with a big boy - Daisy put
him right in his place (only SHE bosses around Donzi!!)  I have been walking 3 miles a day with the
dogs and hopefully we will start to put some muscle on our big, skinny, all leg Donzi, his nickname is
Twinkle Toes for those big feet and skinny body.  He has been a joy - can't remember life without him!!
 Thank you

4/27/08 - Donzi has been adopted!

4/24/08 - Last night I took Donzi to the vet for his check up and to get updated on his shots. He was
such a good boy everyone there loved him! He has a small skin irritation on his chest but nothing some
hydrocortisone spray won't take care of. Other than that he is in perfect health.

I think he is loving life here. He sprawls himself out on the couch every night with me. His previous
owners kenneled him at night. We tried the first night but he seemed upset and I felt bad so we let him
out. I put a gate up so he couldn't leave our room and he did great. He gets up on the bed and puts his
head on the pillow like it is there just for him! I tell him to get down and he looks at me like I am crazy!!
He does seem to have a little bit of separation anxiety right now, but I am sure it will only get better.

All and all Donzi is an awesome dog. He is learning his place with my other boxers and they love to play
and run around. He listens very well and he has such a wonderful personality. He is very sweet. He is
just going to make such a great pet. hurry and get in your applications I think he is going to be gone fast.
I will be sad to
see him go :(

4/22/08-  Donzi has spent his first night here.  He did really well he was a little nervous, but to be
expected.  He is a big mush ball!!  He is already very attached to me I can't go anywhere with out him
on my heals!  I take him to vet tomorrow evening for a check up and update on his shots.  He is going
to be an excellent dog for another family. He is wonderful with my 2 small kids they are 4 and 2 he
follows them around the yard like he is the babysitter!  He is learning his place here with my other 2
boxers Maddy and Max.  He and Max have their moments but I think they will be fine over the next
few days- Nothing serious just a little growling!  Well I am still getting to know him but so far he is great
he stays right in the yard with the other dogs and he is just the sweetest thing.  He snuggled on the couch
with me last night a little.  I call him a big goober!! I will write again in a few days after I get to know
him a little better and let everyone know how he made out at the vets.

MORE ABOUT DONZI'S PAST:  Donzi was surrendered by a very loving owner that was having
personal medical issues and could not care for him anymore.  He was named after a higher end boat
brand (his owners loved to fish & dreamt of one of these).  He is good with cats, dogs, all kids and just
a great big goofy, sweet boxer boy.
