DIXIE
UPDATE 5/18/08 - Dixie is doing great.  She just has one more class and she will be a certified
therapy dog.  We visit hospitals, nursing home & an alzhiemer's facilities.  This summer we'll be visiting
summer camps for children.  It's nice to explain where she came from and what she does now.
Dixie still has seperation anxiety and we just deal with it.  We either crate or kennel her when left alone.
She's OK with it and so are we.
We'll be taking her on her first camping trip this coming weekend.  We plan to do alot of hiking.  She
loves to go for walks in the woods.

UPDATE 4/20/08 - Dixie is adjusting to our home and cat great.
We took her to visit family in CT this weekend and she had a blast play with other family members.
Dixie has passed her CGC and as soon as I received her certificate will pass on a copy.  I hope to soon
be entering phase 2 of her therapy training and certification.
She still has much anexity when left alone but it is getting a bit better.

Thank you

UPDATE 3/17/08 - Dixie is a perfect lady when we are with her. We are disappointed that we were
not told of her seperation anxiety issue. She has destroyed many things in our home but they are just
things that can be replaced. She even managed to escape from her wire kennel so we changed it to a
veri-kennel this weekend which seems to be working better. She continues to pee and poop in the
house again associated with anxiety issues. She has managed to tramatize our cat but hopeful this will
change in time. We will not give up on her. Our vet says baby steps for the next 3-4 months. She is
doing really well at her training class - sure does love the click and treat.

2/17/08 - Dixie has been adopted! I am happy to report that Dixie took to David right away! In fact,
she had him on his knees and sucked up all the attention she could possibly get. No shyness on her
part. Ann took care of the paperwork while Dixie was loving David. They have just left for home and
Ann is driving, while David is in the back seat with Dixie!
Looks just right to me. One very happy boxer girl!

2/13/08 - Dixie is a very pretty girl. She has a very forlorn look about her, but in reality seems to be
quite happy. She is always ready to be petted, loves her food and, so far, is a very good girl. She
didfuss a bit at bedtime last night in the crate. This girl is ready to go. She is all up to date on shots, She
gets along very well with the other dogs, but is not a "player"  yet. She has not taken any notice of the
toys, but has picked out a bone to munch on.  She has only been here for a few days and we are still
getting acquainted.

2/10/08 - Dixie arrived all the way from Virginia today with her sister Jaxx. They were turned into a
shelter due to a divorce.
