DEMPSEY
2/14 - Dempsey was neutered today and I bet he was thinking "some Valentine's gift!"  He did great
and was a big hit at the vet's office.  He was giving kisses and wagging his nub for all the workers after
his surgery.   He is now UTD on all his shots and is looking for his new home.  Dempsey is a dream
dog and we have all fallen in love with him.  He is so easy to take care of that I forget to write about
him.  He is very loving and spreads the love to everyone that he lives with. No red flags here - this guy
is a keeper. He is smart, loving, obedient, and in need of his forever home and family.   Take it from me
though, just look into those innocent eyes, and you will be smitten!

2/4/08 - Gosh, what an easy dog to love and to care for.  He settles in so easily and does all that he can
to please you.  He's a good protector of the house and barks when someone is at the door, but is not
aggressive to visitors.  We've been letting Dempsey sleep on our bed and he settles in nicely at the
bottom and sleeps there until morning - and does he snore!  He loves my girls and kisses their faces
until their skin is shiny.  He's very playful and likes playing with my 3 year old boxer, Duke.  When he is
not playing, he follows me throughout the house.  I don't know how he can be sound asleep and snoring
one minute and as I try to sneak upstairs, he is right behind me.  He makes me laugh.  He's smart and
knows all his basic commands - crate-up, sit, down, and come.

The only quirks I've noticed about him are he hates the vaccuum and tries to bite it.  He also loves going
"bub-bye car" but barks at people walking by.

Dempsey will fit in nicely to your home if you would like a dog without a lot of work.  He would also
make a great second dog since he is totally non-aggressive.  What an easy dog to love!

1/29/08 - Dempsey has been with us for 3 days.  What a lovely dog he has been.  He has been in a
shelter twice - first time because the senior dog in the house did not like him and stopped eating.  The
second time because someone in the adopting family had an allergy.  This poor guy has been around 7
years and no one knew of his name.  We selected the name Dempsey, not just as a reference to the
boxer but, its Gaelic for proud and any dog that can be around for 7 years and not have a name - hasn't
had very much to be proud of and hopefully can grow into this name and life.

Dempsey is brown with a black/gray muzzle.  He is solid, muscular, and energetic.  He was crated the
first night (didn't like it) and has now been sleeping beside my bed.  He isn't aggressive with the other
dogs or food.  When let out, he does his business quickly and comes right back in.  He seems a little
finicky, or else just isn't a huge eater.  He is so happy with all the attention he is getting and is so
desperate to please.  His tail never stops wagging.  He loves to ride in the car and is asleep 5 minutes
into the drive.  He loves my kids - and will lavish kisses all over their faces.  He is a pretty mellow boy
that loves companionship and affection.  Next on our agenda is to get him updated on shots and be
neutered.  Will keep you updated on this great boy.

1/26/08 - "No Name" SCBR's newest foster has arrived from a local kennel.  There is no record of a
name for this poor guy.  He needs to be neutered and I'll call the last vet on record to see if he is up to
date on shots.  We're going to feed him, take him for a nice walk and get to know him better.  I'll
update his bio and send pics in the next couple of days.

Much thanks to Anne and Richard for introducing us to "No Name" and for transporting him.  Anne
said he was great in the car and slept on her lap.
