UPDATE 10/6/09 - it's been a year now(well in two days) and clyde is doing very
well and is staying healthy-----we love him----he follows me anywhere---there is a
couple of stories to tell---we now call him "clam flat clyde decoster the bagle dog"
first-----when we go down to the shore (salt water coves) he just goes in
swimming-----however one day he decided to go by himself and he came home
all soaking wet----my wife had to leave and didn't know what to do as we always
keep him in the house when we leave for a few hours----she grabbed a huge
towel and wiped him dry and layed down two more on our carpet and told him to
stay put until she returned----and he did!!!
second----my wife bought a bag of bagles and packed them in her suitcase as
she was visiting  our daughter in mass.  when she got home she didnt have the
time to unpack and had to go down town----when she got home clyde had torn
open her suitcase and eaten 3 bagles!!!
in summary we were very lucky to be able to adopt clyde as he's proven to be a
wonderful dog and we love him

UPDATE 4/8/09 - clyde continues to do well----we went away for a week and left
him at a kennel----he was so happy to see me when i picked him up----the kennel
thought he noticed tapeworm so we went to our vet and got $55 worth of meds
"cestex" which apparantly did the job-----he continues to stick to me like a
leach------we go for walks most days now that the weather is getting better---and
of course he continues in good health

UPDATE 1/7/09 - clyde continues to be just one great friend and pal to both my
wife and i----he just loves the Maine outdoors and follows me everywhere loose
as we have no need to leash him unless im going for a long walk---even though
he came from the south he's become acclimated to our cold and snowy
weather-----we didnt get to play tennis ball catch too much this past month
because of the stormy and cold weather----however he gets some exercise
outside and runs and runs no matter the temperaturee----our daughter and her
two children were here for christmas and clyde loved them----a couple of times
his tail knocked off a few christmas balls on our tree----i think he got more toys
from santa than i did----we even hung up his stocking made by our daughter for
santa to fill especiallly with raw hide which he loves to chew----he continues in
good health and i comb his coat once a week----ive kept watch on the small black
pimple as your vet advised three months ago and it has shown no growth!
-----he continues to remain in good health

UPDATE 12/4/08 - clyde continues to do great---i teach school part time and when
i get home that tail is going as fast as an airplane propeller-----he hangs out with
the pony sometimes when im feeding the pony-----as im typing this he's with me
in the den laying on a blanket on top of the sofa----our son and his wife and 4
grandchildren  came home for a visit from kwajalein, marshall islands to gether
with our daughter from mass. and her two grandcildren for thanksgiving and clyde
was so well behaved and having met some of them for the first time was so so
friendly with them.
he continues to remain in excellent health and his coat gets combed quite often
and he loves it-----we continue to play ball together ie tennis ball throwing and he
just loves it and is getting his exercise

UPDATE 11/7/08 - clyde is doing wonderful-----it only took him 2 weeks to adjust
to his new home and for us to adjust to him-----he absolutely loves us and is like
a leech sticking to me follows me everywhere-----he loves our pony----he has his
own set of toys that our daughter mailed him----yes i said him it was addressed
to clyde decoster  waldoboro maine and it was delivered by fedex----the driver
said here's a package for clyde decoster and he nearly died from laughing when
my wife said it's for our dog
i take him for a walk every day on his leash ----we go about a mile or so-----he
also rides in the passenger seat in my truck when i go down town or to the
dump----
his health is excellent----we are so happy with him

UPDATE 10/8/08 - I know this update isnt required til 11/08 and at that time i shall
do it; but,   i wanted to make sure you know that clyde did ok in our car driving from
lewiston to waldoboro.  We've gotten him home and showed him our
surroundings while he was on a leash.  He loves us already and we love him.
He's been well behaved and loves his hard plastic bone, tennis ball, etc.  I had
him in my den for a while and he let me know when he had to go pee by barking.
I let him out this time without a leash and he went about his business and walked
around as i stayed with him and he came when called.  I know it's only the first
day but we have fallen in love with him and are amazed at his obediance.  He
follows us around room to room and we are both amazed at his behavior.  I shall
send you an update by 11/8/08-----

10/8/08 - Clyde has been adopted!

9/19/08 - Clyde is a chocolate labrador retriever that arrived from our favorite
shelter. What a gem this boy is!  He is well behaved. He has manners, listens,
knows commands and loves everyone. He has not had any accidents. Loves all
the dogs. And just wants to play ball. A true lab is happy with a ball in his mouth.
The other day he couldn't find the ball so was carrying around a 4 by 4!  It was the
funniest thing. Clyde will make anyone happy to have him join their family.
