| UPDATE 2/4/09 - Charlie is doing great. He has gained weight. Our big acomplishment this month is doggy school( obedience training). It was actually comical. charlie being a great dane at 130lbs is a dog on the larger size LOL He found school to be very exciting. When he got to school with 5 other dogs he wasn't really interested in learning but playing with his friends. He was distrupting the class to say the least. On the third week he decided that he was going to do it his way. The school has large hooks on the wall attached by a metal plate. I was told no dog has ever ripped them off the wall. Well their is a first for everything.Needless to say he got the boot from school. We have a wonderful teacher that is doing private sessions with us know and he is doing great. He is using a gentle leader wich has made a world of difference. We are know walking him instead of him dragging us down the street. UPDATE 1/5/09 - Charlie the great dane is AWESOME he is filling out nicely.gaining weight it seems daily.he has been great meeting new family and friends.Charlie is improved alot on his leash. He sits and gives paw for treats.charlie is a complete bed hog. He is attached at my hip and cries like a baby for me to be in bed by 8:00 when he is ready to sleep. He has been great not to eat anything off the counters. When we just had the horrible power outage for 9 days he was moving house to house with family and was a great house guest.his bark is bigger than his bight. with that large bark he is a big baby.We couldnt be happier to have him. 12/6/08 - Charlie has been adopted! 10/21/08 - Oh my, this is my kind of dog. Charlie is huge, I mean huge. Reaches into the sink with no effort for a drink. Could leave his water bowl there and then you would never have a mess. Charlie is 36 inches at the shoulders. Did I say this boy is big? He is as sweet as he is big. He meet 20 teenagers his first day here and loved everyone with his tail wagging. He came in and was so good when he got here. But let me tell you the crate was another story. After a small wrestling match he went into the crate, he settled down and was quiet all night. Today Charlie has been an angel and I have to say easier and easier to get into his crate. Tonight I didn't even break a sweat. Charlie has very few leash manners but he truly seems to want to learn. He doesn't seem interested in toys but he will learn. He seems to want to play with other dogs. He seems to like to ride in the car. Well after only 24 hours I have to say this guy is a keeper. Anyone that adopts this guy will be super lucky. |
