BUGSBY/BUDDY
NOTE ** Because I am still a baby, I will only be placed in a home where someone is home often, such as
retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parents, etc.

UPDATE  5/31/08 - Hi!  This is Buddy!  Guess what?  I have a forever home!  Petey and his Mom
came to the Topsham Brad in April.  They thought I was really cute and when Leann asked if they
would take me home with them for a couple of weeks before my surgery they agreed.  Once I got
home with them I did everything I could to convince them I was a really good boy and that I would love
to be able to live with them forever.  Petey told me he'd work on them and when they saw how much
Petey liked me and what a good puppy I was they couldn't resist.  My surgery was pretty rough but
you can't keep a good puppy down for long!  I'm completely back to my normal self now.  Petey and I
love to play and we race around the back yard body slamming each other and jumping and grabbing
each other's jowls.  It's a great game.  I've even managed to impress my Dad by knowing how to fetch
a tennis ball.  I'm a really happy guy and just wanted to say thank you to my friends at SCBR for taking
such good care of me.

5/14/08 - Buddy had his surgery last week. It was a major surgery as he had his penis removed. The
surgery went well and Buddy has been able to urinate fine. The bleeding is slowing down and the worse
part seems to be the cone on his head. It is driving him crazy. Buddy goes back in 2 weeks for a check
up and staple removal. The surgeon seems to think he will live a totally normal happy life as soon as he
learns not to pee on himself. We so appreciate all the people that have donated to his cause. This young
pup would not have had a chance at a shelter or with a lot of rescues. Because of all the great support
we were able to make him a happy, healthy guy. The best news is the Buddy has also found a forever
home. A great family that has adopted from us in the past and have a SCBR boxer already have fallen
in love with this great guy. He will be spoiled for the rest of his life. Thanks again for everyones support.

4/19/08 - Well Buddy went to the vets on Tuesday and was neutered. I am sad to report that his repair
surgery did not work. Buddy will now need to go in for the major surgery in the next few weeks. It will
be a long hard surgery and we can only hope that he will be able to bounce back from it. Buddy is such
a sweet boy who enjoys all the other dogs and every person he meets.

3/30/08 - Buddy didn't make is to the specialist on Friday due to the snow storm. He will be going on
Tuesday. Buddy continues to be a great dog. He gets along great with all the other dogs here, big and
small, male and female. Buddy loves everyone he mets and is a little shy at first as I think someone had
a heavy hand with him at one time. He is getting more confident everyday. Buddy is doing really well in
the house but will mark if you are not paying attention. We are working on that. Buddy is completely
cratetrained and never barks or has an accident in his crate. We will update everyone after Tuesday.

3/25/08 - Bugsby who we call Buddy made his way to the vet yesterday. Seems he will need major
surgery to correct a male problem he is having. We will hear more today once we find a vet that is able
to do this very difficult surgery. I have no idea how long the recovery is going to be so we will not find
him a forever home until we have more information. I hope everyone will keep Buddy in your thoughts
and prayers. If you would like to donate to his surgery which will be in the thousands that would be
great.  More updates soon.

3/16/08 -  The seven month old puppy from the shelter that contacted us to help, has arrived safely
thanks to a lot of wonderful transporters. He is settling in nicely and we have named him Bugsby. He
has met my dogs and is getting along wonderfully with them. I have an appointment for him at the vets
on Monday and then he should be ready for a new home. Bugsby is very sweet and loves to play. I will
update him more after I get to know him better.
