BISHOP
UPDATE 8/2/10 - We cannot believe we have had Bishop in our family for 2 years already!  He has
become the clown in our group - everybody loves him!  Our older Golden and Bishop are best friends, do
everything together and Bishop has brought out the 'puppy' in our old girl!  Bishop loves to snuggle, still
believes he's a lap dog too!
We cannot thank Second Chance enough for matching us up with Bishop and for the life of us we can't
imagine why someone would give him up - but we are glad they did!

UPDATE 2/16/09 - Bishop has been with our family for seven months! It is like we've had him forever! Our
other dog Copper loves Bish, they sleep in front of the fireplace together, play together, eat bones together,
they do everything with each other! When Copper lays down Bish runs over and sits on her head! It's sooo
funny. He's a good boy though. His favorite thing to do is play with Cop or ride in the car! Bish hates when
other dogs are getting pets, he runs over and jumps all over you then bites Copper's back leg! When he
rides in the car he flies from the back to the front seat, like theirs no other human(s) in the car! Then Bish
lays down in a little ball or sticks his head out the window. We all love Bish. He's even made our other
golden-Copper- loose five pounds! A few days ago our dog was on a leash on the other side of the road,
and Bishop ran over and grabbed her leash and walked her back to the house! It was the cuttest little
moment! We just adore him! He likes the beach too,  Bish runs up to the water like superman, but as soon
as he gets a little cold water on him he's gone. Bishop is full of life and brings lots of laughter to our home!
We are all so happy about having Bishop join our family!

UPDATE 9/15/08 - Bishop has been with us for over a month now, and it feels like we've had him since he
was a pup!  He is the most adorable, good listener ever.  He's sometimes a little mischievious (likes to eat
snacks from the counter), but other than that we could not be happier.  Our six year old Golden named
Copper at first did not like him at all, but now they are the best of friends.  They play all the time (Bishop has
given Copper her old puppiness back), they sleep together too!
My children adore him and he adores them right back.  Bishop was the perfect fit for our family!
Thank you SCBR!!!!!

UPDATE 8/10/08 -   Well, Bishop has been with us for one full week already.  He is a VERY smart boy
and he's already got our routine down pat.  As soon as I bring him out in the morning, he runs to the pantry
for his first bone of the day.  He has been sleeping in his crate at night until we are confident he won't do any
funny business, and as soon as he goes in, he lays down comfy as can be, not a peep out of him.
The first few days he had an accident or two, but we've learned to read his cues (since he doesn't seem to
bark) and bring him out.  Copper our golden was not very happy when we brought him home, but she is
tolerating and even started playing with him a bit.  She lets him know when she's had enough, but all in all,
every day with the two of them gets better and better.
We brought him to Petco for a bath and nail trim and he was the hit of the store.  What a gentleman he was,
no pulling on the leash, no jumping just lots and lots of boxer wiggles!
We'll keep you updated!

8/3/08 - Bishop has been adopted!

7/18/08 - Bishop arrived last weekend thanks to his great team of transport volunteers and Lisa who kept
him overnight until the transport!  He was surrendered to a great shelter we work with due to his family was
having financial troubles.  His paperwork said he is good with kids and people of all ages, from babies to
seniors, and that he got along with other dogs too.  All of Bishop's helpers said how great he was and super
sweet, all fell instantly in love with him!

Bishop is a gorgeous boy with just as wonderful a personality too!  He loves going for car rides, is great in
his big wire crate with a blanket when I am not home (not a peep from him!) and he is super sweet with
everyone he meets, including little kids.  He also does great with my dogs and loves playing with my Simon.
I think Simon is THRILLED to finally have another boxer that really wants to play wild & crazy like he
does! LOL  I'm not too sure about cats yet though as my JJ likes to be outside a lot during the summer so
he is not around much for "cat testing". :)   The few times Bishop has seen JJ around, he does get a little bit
too excited, so I will need more time to tell for sure if kitties can be in his new home.

Bishop should be neutered and get his shots updated sometime next week and then he will be ready to go
home!

7/13/08 - Bishop is a very sweet dog.  He is going to make someone very happy. Here are some quick
pictures -- As you can see, Lisa did not want to let this boy go, but he was one lucky dog to spend the night
in her house having a nice bath, meals, etc.
