TITAN
UPDATE 6/10/08 -   I've been meaning to do an update.  Titan is doing great and my three kids love
him and he loves them.  His health is good, he's great with all the kids in the neighborhood and his
manners are still very good.
Sometimes he likes to be in the thick of things and sometimes he likes to go have some peace and quiet
in his spot in our rec room.  He has really bonded with my oldest, my seven year old son.  I thought it
would be my six year old daughter but he and my son really love each other.  My two year old loves
him too and Titan is very, very gentle with him.
I think Titan is loving his life.  He plays in the woods when he wants and relaxes when he wants.  He's
gained about five pounds since we brought him home so I am going to be careful to make sure he
doesn't get chubby.
My only complaint is he still barks at strangers and anytime anyone, including the nieghborhood kids
come to our door.  I really don't want him to do that, everyone that comes to our door is welcome and
I am trying to get him to understand that.
Thanks

UPDATE 11/12/07 - Titan is doing great.  He just went to the Vet and the groomer on Friday and
everything is fine. He's 76 pounds, I believe he was 77 when we adopted him. His foster mom was
right, he is the best dog, everyone that meets him loves him. My kids adore him and he is so good with
them.  His favorite things to do are hiking with me in the woods and sleeping on my 5 year old
daughters lap.  My 7 seven year old son loves to give him hugs and my two year old son loves to rest
his head on Titan. Titan is so perfect for our family, we are very lucky. I hope he feels lucky too, he
deserves a nice life.

10/07 - Tiatn has been adopted!

9/28/07 - Hi Everyone - It's me Titan, or as my foster mom calls me, Big Man. I wanted to tell you how
well I am doing here at my foster home. I love it here!!!! I can sleep wherever I want - even in bed with
my foster mom and dad and my fur friend Riley (sssshhhhh - don't tell but we kiss all night long). I
especially love the Little Guy of the house. He's really sweet to me and he's not afraid of me even
though I'm bigger than him and my tongue is much longer and sloppier than his. I give him slimy kisses
when he least expects it and he laughs. I also get in the middle when the Little Guy and his big sister
argue and protect him. My foster mom thinks its cute, but tells me that I don't have to do that anymore.
She doesn't get it - I like the action around the house! Mom says I'm doing really well. I had my neuter
(not sure why we had togo> there - geez) two weeks ago as well as two skin tags removed and the
stiches come out today! Yeah - now mom won't yell to me to stop lickin or put that stupid collar around
my neck (e-collar). Do you know how hard it is to run up and down steps with one of those on? I did
have an ear infection - I came into foster care with it - it was pretty bad, but I was a good boy so they
would keep me and didn't complain at all. When I hadmy surgery they cleaned my ears - Mom said I
really needed it. She's really picky about clean ears. Plus now I can hear better!!! I'm stillfinishing my
antibiotics, but I am ready to go to my forever home. My foster mom wants to say hello: Titan continues
to be the bestest boxer boy. He is so good that I never put him in the crate and he hangs with Riley
when I'm at work. They hang out and cuddle and bark at the window when Fed-Ex, UPS or the
mailperson comes. Titan didn't bark except when startled when he first arrived, but now Riley has hi m
on alert to anyone in uniform. He'll stop (if you want him to) when he arrives at your house. Titan has a
good appetite, but doesn't really go for treats. He'll play with toys, but could really care less. When we
go for walks I've taught him to go potty pretty much on command. We don't have a fenced yard - so
we walk the nature trail alot. Sometimes they get a shorter walk, but I need them to be "empty" so both
know when I say "finish up" they have to go. Titan looks scary at first (many people have walked to the
other side of the street until I tell them he's friendly). Don't let the size (77 pounds) and the dark mask
fool you. When you look into his eyes you can really see the sweet and sensitive boy he really is. He
just wants love. He has a beautiful brindle coat - he's soooo handsome! Please Please Please send in
your application soon or I'll stay right here in New Jersey forever. Paws and Sloppy Kisses, Titan and
Wendy The Boxer Bungalow

9/8/07 - Our big 75 pound, handsome, brindle boxer boy has been here at the Boxer Bungalow on the
Links for almost a week and we have gotten to know him and he has really settled in. He was brought
here by the wonderful Montgomery's and we say thank you for driving soooo far to bring him to the
Bungalow.
Titan was an owner surrender with a female that is coming into rescue also. The family had to give them
up as there was domestic violence in the home and they were moving to a shelter and obviously couldn't
keep them. We are so happy to have Titan with us and will enjoy helping him find is forever home.
When he arrived he immediately got a bath - he smelled and once he realized I was giving him love he
relaxed and loved it too. We fed him a little bit and he collapsed on he kitchen floor while I put the
groceries away. For all of you who know my Riley, you're asking where she was during all of this time -
well she was right next to him. We were all blown away - it usually is a little tense around here for a few
days until Riley re-learns her place, but she has taken to Titan and loves him. It's probably because she
doesn't faze him at all. He looks at her like she's nuts most the time. Plus we know that Titan was used
often for "stud" services and maybe he has a way with the females or he's just worn out.
Titan is an easy easy dog to have around. He is gentle and calm all the time and doesn't jump unless I
ask him to dance and then he puts his paws up in slow motion on me. It's beautiful to watch! He's very
easy on the leash and just trots out with me and Riley. I walk the two of them together on a Sporn
(double leash) and he has helped slow her down - thank you Big Man Titan.
We haven't had one accident in the house and he can go for many hours without going out. Titan does
not need to be crated, but is fine in the crate. I think he may have spent A LOT of time in the crate, but
it may have been a safe place for him to be when there was turmoil in the home.
This week we taught Titan what a blanket and dog bed are for. I put a dog bed out for him and he
curled around the edge of it and wouldn't touch it. I put a blanket out for him next to my side of the bed
and he curled himself into a ball between the blanket and my books and didn't touch the blanket at all.
Sooooo we've taight him it's okay when he's invited onto the furniture and that he has free use of all
doggie beds and bblankets on the floor.
I can't begin to tell you how wonderful Titan is and what a catch he is! He is awesome with everyone,
humans, dogs, kids. I just don't know about cats, but I don't think he'd have a problem. He's being
neutered this week, better get your application in asap and claim him!

9/2/07 - Titan has arrived at the Boxer Bungalow on the Links and he is trying to settle in.  Thanks to
George and Carol Montgomery for taking a road trip to pick him up. He's a Big Boy and just a mush
face.   More later - just wanted you to know he madeit safe and sound.
