TATER
UPDATE 7/1/07 -   Tater continues to be a perfect match for us and for Trooper. She's really starting
to gain confidence now. She LOVES the horses! When we first brought her home, she didn't even want
to go into the barn. Now, she wants to go under the fence and into the horse paddock with our mares,
which we do not allow her to do but she loves sniffing the horses' noses and is even okay with all three
horses sniffing her at once! :-) With people, she is still very shy at first, but she very quickly warms up to
them and after a few minutes, she's all wiggles and kisses! Tater is just the sweetest girl! She and
Trooper continue to do just great together. They love to play together and Trooper loves giving Tater
kisses. They also ride very well in the car together and love going for rides. They're both such
wonderful dogs! We feel so lucky to have them.

UPDATE 5/29/07 - Well, yet another month has passed by and Tater continues to be a complete joy.
We love her more and more every day! She's just the sweetest, prettiest little girl and she makes our
hearts melt. She's the perfect addition to our family and definitely rules the house. (Well, at least in 85
pound Trooper's eyes! The gentleman that he is, he always lets her have the bed, the couch, etc. Last
night, Tater decided to sleep on 2 dog beds instead of with us on our bed. Trooper slept on the floor!)
She's definitely a princess! :-) Clicker training is going slowly but well. The trainer is wonderful...very,
very gentle and understanding of where Tater came from. Tater does very well with the training in the
house with us but tends to be very on guard at school. She doesn't like to sit unless she's at home and
feeling comfortable. That's okay...we learn training methods at school and then work on them at home.
Tater is also feeling more comfortable about people coming into the house. For example, when she first
met my mom, I think she thought she was going to take her home with her. But now, she's very
comfortable and friendly with her. Yesterday, she jumped up on my mom and gave her kisses. (My
mom is not a huge fan of dog kisses but Tater is just SO cute and sweet and gentle...My mom actually
let her kiss her!) She's a very, very special dog and we're so thrilled and proud to have her in our
family. Thanks again to everyone at SCBR for allowing us to share our lives with Tater and Trooper. :-)

UPDATE 4/23/07 - Well, we can't believe a month has gone by so quickly! As I write this, Tater and
Trooper (adopted from SCBR 7/02) are play wrestling with each other nearby! Tater was shy for a
few days when we first adopted her but then...she came right our of her shell! She has turned into the
puppy that she probably couldn't be when she was at the puppy mill.
In fact, Tater has really been a dream come true for us. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect dog
for our family! She's an absolute love bug! She and Trooper have gotten along SO well from the start.
Tater is great with our cats. And she thoroughly enjoys our lifestyle, which includes walks through the
woods down to the river that borders our property, and lots of playing with Trooper outside near our
horses. She's getting a little braver with the horses and almost touched noses this past weekend with
one of our mares. She also LOVES the couch after a hard day of playing! ;-) She's just such a happy,
loving girl and we love her so much!
She has gained a good amount of weight and more muscle and looks so healthy. She recovered nicely
from her spaying, is all up to date on shots now, and starts her clicker training class this weekend!
We also wanted to take a moment to say that we are so proud of our Trooper. He's really proven
himself to be the most incredible gentleman with Tater. What a special dog he is! :-)We're so proud of
both of our SCBR fur-kids. We wish we had adopted a second dog sooner, as Trooper is so happy
now, but we're sure Tater was meant to be with us, so we suppose it was just fate that we waited so
long!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to Kathy and Liz and everyone that made Tater's rescue from the
puppy mill possible. She's the perfect addition to our family! :-)

3/24/07 - Tater has been adopted!

3/1/07 - Hi everyone, just wanted to update my little friend here.  this is one very sweet, very bright,
loving little girl. Her crate is always dry, she does not potty in the house. she adores the other dogs and
seems to gain a lot of confidence from them. She looks to My Sadie for clues about what she should be
doing.  Tater girl is a quick study.....  She is eager to do whatever I ask of her:)  you can clearly see she
beams with happiness when she is told what a good girl she is:) she responds so well to praise....she
loves the attention
She is discovering the wonder of squeaky toys and dog biscuits. and what it's like to be loved and
snuggled.
She is an easy going girl..... she will be ready for her forever home in about 3 weeks. Tater has a
passive personality and would be a great dog for any home but especially  if you already own a
dominant dog and have been considering adding another.

2/24/07 - Hi everyone Tater (Tot) has arrived in rescue safe and sound.  A big thanks to Monica and
Scott   for springing this sweet little girl from a puppy mill.   She has eaten and is relaxing for the
evening. She has met some of the resident dogs and did very well.......... she was happy to see them.
We will be making an appointment for her to be brought up to date with her shots. Her spay will need
to be postponed for a couple of weeks. it appears she is in heat and it is not safe to spay during that
process. I'm already quite impressed with this little girl. she has clearly risen above her life in a chicken
coop. she is moving through sights and sounds very well... she  is very curious about the TV and just
general household noises.    She is not fearful like some of the puppy mill dogs I've seen in the  past.
we will update more as we get to know her.......
