TAKEO => Cooper
** NOTE: Because I am still a baby, I will only be placed in a home where someone is home often, such
as retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parent, etc.**

UPDATE 9/3/07 - Cooper is a big boy now.  He weighs about 90 lbs. He needs eye surgery. That is
scheduled for this week. The vet says his eyelashes are growing inward.  He and our other dog are now
very close. They will not leave each others side. He is still a momma's boy.  He is still shy with most
people. he continues to get sick on car rides.  He is a very good boy.

UPDATE 5/6/07 - Cooper is a growing puppy.  He seems bigger every time I turn around.  He is
happy and healthy as well.  He and our three year old boxer are still getting to know one another.  The
both completed their obedience training,  we are still working with them.  He has brought so much
happiness to our family already.

UPDATE 4/5/07 -   Well it's hard to believe that he has been here for only two months.  He and
Dakota are still feeling each other out alot, but they have become very attatched to each other.  The
obedience training is going well. He is so full of energy it is hard to keep up with him.  His next vet
appointment is in a few weeks.  He has brought so much joy to our lives.

UPDATE 3/3/07 - Takeo (Cooper) is doing great.  He is very well ajusted.  He is a mamma's boy.  He
and our three year old boxer Dakota get along well.  They have heated moments but it is usually playful.
He went to the vet and got a good report.  He is going back in a few weeks. He is getting so big he
was 23 lbs. at the vet last week. He begins obedience training on wednesday the 7th.  My 10 year old
son loves him.  Having two dogs is really great. He has no fears of anything.

2/5/07 - Takeo has been adopted!

2/1/07 - Hard to believe the puppies will turn 9 weeks old tomorrow. We are going to celebrate the big
day with a trip to the vet, they are due for their second vaccination and likely another deworming. They
are doing very well. So sweet and social. They definitely see me and their "food source" as soon as I
get up in the morning they start screaming. No barking as of yet just this silly high pitched yelping. They
take their trip out to potty then come in and make noise until I feed them. It appears they want to make
their presence known, as if I would forget to feed them. They eat like they have never eaten before,
trust me they are well fed we are on our 3rd bag of puppy food already.

They are doing really well with the puppy nipping. The biting has definitely lessened and they are
beginning to learn it is not acceptable. I'm pretty impressed with how quickly they are learning. They are
all a lot of fun. They play hard then crash for a nap. Jeter and Carmella are destined to be lap dogs
sometimes they prefer to just sit on our laps during play time. They others like to be held too but only
after they get to play awhile. Latte's new move is to jump over the other pups when playing instead of
going around them. Takeo loves the big dogs and my son. Cappuccino is so much fun. The other day
she was sitting in the family room watching TV, where's the camera when you need it?

I'm trying to get new pictures of the puppies. It's hard to believe but they are getting even more
adorable as they are growing up. They are some beautiful babies.

1/15/07 - Like football? This little baby was named after football player Takeo Spikes and he's
definitely a team player. He is the bravest of the pups and sometimes gets sidelined for not playing by
the rules. He likes to check out every inch of his new world but is doing well at learning the rules. He
loves attention and seems to be a quick learner. Takeo is a very light fawn (like Latte) with the coolest
splash of white on his nose. He's one handsome little pup.

1/10/07 - SCBR's newest litter of babies arrived Tuesday and we would like to thank their first foster
family for taking such great care of them. These little Boxer mix babies came all the way from KY, they
are now residing in NY. Tessie is the momma, she is a very pretty white boxer mix. Tessie arrived very
skinny, with a badly broken leg. The efforts began to save her leg and she was fitted with a specially
made cast. The vet had some doubts that her leg could be saved. Tessie was doing well and gaining
weight nicely. It then became apparent that she wasn't just gaining weight because she was eating well
but because she was pregnant! On Decemeber 1st these pretty little pups were born, 3 males and 3
females. Since Tessie was in such poor condition the vet advised the puppies be weaned a little early
and taken from Momma. The fear was the pups too long nursing would deplete her calcium supply and
interfere with healing. The rescuer in KY was careful to do everything right, the puppies were brought
to the vet to be properly weaned, dewormed and vaccinated.
Once the doctor gave the OK for the puppies to be transported arrangements were made for the
journey to NY. I will update the pups individually once we get to know them. They are happy, healthy,
chubby, friendly little babies! SCBR was contacted because the person who rescued Tessie  doesn't
have an actual rescue, she takes dogs in vets them and places them on a wait list to get into a local no
kill shelter. The wait can sometimes be quite long and she did not want these sweet little babies to
spend a minute in a shelter. There's good news for momma Tessie too, her leg is healing well (the
doctor is amazed and can't explain it) and she is being adopted by her foster mom's sister. This is one
very lucky little family, their fate could have been horrific had things worked out differently. More
updates and pictures coming soon!
