UPDATE 1/27/08 - Stitch is doing great, he still doesn't know what furniture is he just barrels right
through it when he & Rueben are playing. Rueben is a 9 lb. mix that absolutely loves Stitch, we also
have a 4lb. white Chi. who basically stays out of Stitches way. We have quite a few birds & stitch
would love to get ahold of a couple of them. I had to give my cat to my mother Stitch wanted to eat
her, but we still get to see the cat (MOE) whenever we want.Stitch is so good he doesn't leave the yard
& just follows Rueben every where, rueben is Alpha dog. I don't think Stitch knows he is so much
bigger than Rue. Stitch loves his crate we leave it open at all times & he sleeps in it. We don't have to
crate him any more when we leave, he just falls asleep on the couch with the other two. Stitch is very
healthy the vet just loves him, our small town office & health center loves to see stitch & rueben coming
they go with me alot to work. Stitch talks to everyone that comes over to visit, you cannot get out of
your chair without a little slober & a great talking to from him. we call him the big goober, his head is so
big he can't do the boxer wiggle.
We are so happy to have him in our lives!!!!!
11/07 - Stitch has been adopted!
10/2/07 - Stitch continues to be the perfect house guest. He is just loving life here at his foster home. He
loves to be outside and I can often catch him taking a nap in the sun out there. He has learned that dog
beds are great places to hang out on. He is having no accidents in the house. He is ready to start his
new life at his adoptive home. He can't believe he is still waiting. He loves his foster brothers and sisters
and gets along with
everyone. He will bark (actually howls) to let you know when someone is pulling in the driveway or
entering the yard. We laugh at him every time he does this. Stitch continues to love to eat his meals. It is
the highlight
of his day. He gets so happy and you can't fix it fast enough. Stitch has learned many things here and he
is the most patient boy. When it is treat time, he just waits his turn and always has to be invited to have
a treat.
Stitch does not get up on any furniture and sleeps in our bedroom on a dog bed. He always sleeps
through the night. Stitch would do well with another dog to help with his confidence and the fact that he
really enjoys having and playing with another dog. We have a bush in our backyard that all the
permanent dogs here use for a great back scratcher. It is just the right height for the perfect rub. It also
has become Stitches favorite place to visit. He will circle it everyday and you can tell that it feels really
good to him. Stitch is one of the happiest fosters we have ever had. His nub is always wiggling even
when you talk to him. Stitch longs for a home
and family to call his own. Think about making him part of your family. He will be very dedicated to
whoever adopts him.
8/24/07 - Stitch is doing wonderful at his foster home. He has been brought up to date on his
vaccinations, neutered and heartworm tested and is negative and now on preventative. He is a
sweetheart. He has learned so much since coming to his foster home. Now that he is neutered there is
no marking going on in the house and all his foster brothers and sisters think that he is a fine foster
brother. He is beginning to play a little bit and he will chase Peaches around the backyard once she
entices him to play. She never takes no for an answer once she has given the new foster a hard time so
most of them just give in and become her little play toy. The power of a woman. Stitch goes along with
everything. He has learned that it is okay to relax a little. It is amazing to watch a foster settle in. He was
so nervous but now he is just one of the pack. He has learned about going away in the car as we have
made a few trips to the vet since arriving in foster care. Today, he had an appointment to get his stitches
out from a lump that they took off when he was neutered. I didn't have to lift the big guy in the truck
today. He went in with a little coaxing. Much easier. When it was time to come home, he jumped in like
he has been doing it his whole life. He was so happy to be back at his foster home, his big nub was
going crazy once he saw everyone. He is a good eater and eating kibbled with a little can and warm
water twice a day. He knows where his spot is and I just have to ask him once to go to his eating area.
Too funny. I think that Stitch will make a great addition to any family. He hasn't been taught alot of
commands but he is very willing to learn and I think he will be a star in his obedience class. He just
needs a family that is willing to teach him and be patient while he learns what is expected of him. He
sleeps in our
bedroom on the floor with his head on a dog bed. (he hasn't learned yet that dog beds are for hanging
out on) He's really a good boy. Stitch would do well in a household with another dog to continue
teaching him the ropes. I think he just hasn't had much attention paid to him. So sad. He will snuggle
with some of his foster brothers and sisters, placing his head on them to sleep. I think he does miss his
brother Petey who is also in foster care at this time but he is adjusting. Please think about making this
big guy a part of your family. He will always be thankful and you will have just a wonderful friend.
8/9/07 - Stitch is the newest guest at the Boxer'In on the Lake. He is an owner surrender and his
brother Petey came into SCBR the week before to a different foster home who is also on our available
dog site. Stitch is a white male with a docked tail and natural ears. He has been a sweetheart so far
except for just being very nervous as to what has happened to him. He started eating today which is a
good sign that he is beginning to settle here. He has met all 7 of his foster brothers and sisters and has
done pretty well but I think it overwhelms him sometimes. It does me and I live here all the time. Stitch
will be seeing the vet at the end of the week to be brought up to date on his vaccinations and
heartworm tested. Next week he will be neutered and all the girls here and some of the boys will be
doing a little celebrating as Stitch is a little buggy with one thing on his mind. Most are taking matters
into their own hands and telling him that this is not acceptable behavior at our Inn. He is learning. He
was a good boy today in his crate while we were at work. He had a bath tonight and he was very
cooperative once he knew he was not coming out of that tub. He is
going to make someone a great dog. He has a very big neck and head like the old German type boxers.
He is really cute and has a lot of pink around his eyes which makes him look sweet. Get your
applications on this boy, he would be a great addition to any home.
