UPDATE 12/26/07 - Sophie has just finished her obedience class with flying colors. She even made
friends with a dog named Wylie. She is very intelligent and a quick learner. We are trying to read up
on some "ticks" to teach her as she is very anxious to learn more. She is slowly adapting to staying
other places. We travel a lot but so far she has been able to come with us. She enjoys going to my
parents and my in-laws but I think she could live without staying in a hotel again. She still is very fearful
of new people and animals, but we are learning different ways that help us to introduce her and I am
learning patients which is something I need.
UPDATE 9/14/07 - Sophie is doing very good. We are working hard to over come some not so
desirable traits she has, ie. barking and growling when she meets new people and dogs, and her food
aggression. She is going to meet with Dr Dodman at Tufts University on September 27th. My
husband and I are so excited since he is an extremely well know Behaviorist. Otherwise things are
going well. She has settled into our routine nicely and I can not imagine life without her. She brings my
husband and I so much joy!
UPDATE 8/16/07 - We have had Sophie now for about four weeks and things are going good. We
had a rough patch when she got into a fight with my parents 11 year old Golden Retriever but we
started working with a private trainer and things are going much better. She is sooooooooooooooo
smart and is learning very quickly. She still has alot of things to learn but she has proven to us that she
will work hard if we ask her. She now knows sit, down, paw, shake, come (well when she wants too)
and we are currently working on stay. Sophie is very excited that her Invisible Fence is being installed
on Monday and she can not wait. She has also become very happy when my husband gets home from
work because she knows that means we are going for our hike in the woods which she loves!!!!
UPDATE 7/25/07 - I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I just adopted Sophie on Saturday,
so I am a new mom. I am sure I will have lots of questions. As of right now we are doing GREAT! She
is so happy and loving. She is settling into a routine nicely. While I work she has found a great game to
keep her busy. In the morning she brings all of her toys up to our bedroom, one at a time. Then in the
afternoon she brings them back down one at a time. I have bought her so many toys that this takes
approximately 30-40 mins.
I am soooooooooooo in love with her!!!!
7/22/07 - Sophie has been adopted!
7/14/07- Miss Sophie is a bundle of joy! She is so well behaved and wants very much to please her
human. She loves to play hard and sometimes a little rough (she jumped at me and knocked me over
lol!) I wasn't expecting it we were just walking through the yard and she got all riled up and boom
there she was and down I went lol!!! I was not hurt physically just my pride, I was so embarrassed!
So if you have the energy and are a boxer savvy home please consider Miss Sophie! Miss Sophie
loves my 10 yr old daughter and will kiss her to death when I let them sleep together, there is this whole
round of jumping on and off the bed lots of kisses and chase the cat out of the room. No I don't think
cats will do with Miss Sophie, she is too curious. So all in all Miss Sophie would like her forever home
soon, could that be you?
7/9/07- Sophie continues to do well here with her foster brothers and sisters. She likes the pool deck
we built and has to go on it every time she goes out. I keep a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't
jump or fall in lol! She is just curious I guess. She sleeps with me every night and is a riot, we have play
time before we settle down to sleep and she is a ball of fun! She likes to play peek a boo with the
covers and loves to jump on and off the bed! She needs to be crated when no one is home because of
separation anxiety she will chew everything in sight! She loves her humans! She is not really into toys
too much just running and jumping in the yard, she is a ball of energy! oh and did I mention she loves it
outside? Well she does and she will not come in until she is ready so if you have a fenced yard she will
be exstatic and fit right into your family! Please put your applications in for this one she is patiently
waiting for a forever home!!!
6/28/07- Sophie is doing great here with her foster brothers and sisters except one little quirk, food
aggression. That's right Miss Sophie likes her food and no one can touch it! I feed her in her crate so
there are no incidents with the other dogs going after her food. She is all in all a wonderful dog and
loves to play! Once again Ice has a buddy to play with , only difference is he can't keep up with her
she is fast! They race through the back yard like it's the Indy 500 lol! She gets along well with other
dogs and i'm not sure about the cat she has come face to but with the cat as the cat ran as fast as he
could away from her so it's hard to tell! Sophie is patiently waiting for her forever home and would
love it to be for the 4th of July, hint hint!!!!!
6/20/07 - SOPHIE IS A 1 YR OLD OWNER SURRENDER. HER FAMILY COULD NOT GIVE
HER
THE ATTENTION AND TIME SHE NEEDED AS A BOXER PUPPY. THEY WERE VERY
SAD TO SEE HER GO BUT KNEW IT WAS IN THE BEST INTEREST FOR SOPHIE.
