UPDATE 10/9/07 - Sierra is doing well at her forever home. She's trying her best to help her foster
brother calm down so he too can find a family of his own.
She is enjoying the autumn weather and rustling up the leaves as the pack runs and plays in the
backyard. No issues to report!
UPDATE 8/23/07 - Sierra has definately found her spot in our home. She was a perfect fit! She loves
to hang out with the boys in the backyard as they will run, play, and do a little "neighborhood watch".
She leads the pack with her keen ear for any noise!
She has bonded with my female as well. Ices does not appear to be too upset that there is a new girl in
town and a boxer none the less! Now she is really outnumbered!!
Thank you to Bob & Debbie for being such a wonderful foster family. It's great being able to visit them
frequently and take walks with them and Teeny.
8/07 - Sierra has been adopted!
7/02/07 - Sierra is doing great here at her foster home. She is a pure gem. She is a great watchdog,
doesn't like anyone near our yard or near my husband and me. But she can easly be won over. Once
you sweetly talk to her, she melts like butter. She is all wiggles and kisses. She does not play rough, she
rarely plays with her toys. But she is a great campaion. She has bonded to husband quickly. I fly out
quite a bit and I go away for 2-3 days a week sometimes, so the dogs bond fast with my husband.
Sierra follows him around inside and outsid the house. She just wants to be involved with everything he
does. Sierra gets her nightly walks and and is very good off the leash. She stays close by husband and
never runs off. She would make the perfect friend for anyone. She just loves her foster mommy and
daddy too much. I don't believe she will be here long. I know if someone wants a four legged
campanion who needs little or no training, Sierra is the one. She is a true Peach!!!
7/01/07 - Sierra settled down quickly in her foster home. She is a very laid back dog. A real
sweetheart. She laid in the crate most of the day when she arrived, but I believe this just makes her feel
sfae. She has come out quite a bit after her first day and was not shy and give kisses and wiggles. She
is not hyper and does not play much with my other boxer Athena yet. I will take more pictures of her
and write up more in a couple of days on her excellent behavior.
6/26/07 - Sierra arrived here yesterday. Thanks to Tish and Mary Louise for the transport to get this
little girl to my home. You two are great! Sierra is a wonderful dog. She was an owner surrender to a
shelter. She was surrendered because the family has a newborn baby and we were told that she was
growling at the baby. However, the family also has a 5 year old child and Sierra was fine with that. So
this is why we say it is safe for Sierra to be around children over 4 only. I find her to be very mellow
and pleasant so far. She does not bother with my boxer Athena. They just get along quietly. Sierra
does not rough play. She does not go on the furniture and is very well behaved.
I took Sierra to the vet today for her heartworm check and to have a look at some small, very small
bumps or lumbs on her back side. Boxrs are known for these lumps and they are usually harmless. The
Vet just told me to make sure they don't get bigger or they need to be removed. She also has runny
stools. I may have to get a sample to the vet if Immodine does not work. She may be stressed form the
change going on in her life after 5 years with the same people, and now this. Other then that she is a
sweetheart and very mellow loving dog. Perfect companion for someone who does not want to go
through the work of puppy training. She is young enough to play and rump and mature enough in know
her house hold manners. I am sure she won't be here long.
