5/29/07 - Hi everyone.  My name is Shay (pronounced Shy), formally known as Tia.  I wasn't
responding very well to Tia and I was wondering why my owner kept calling me that.  So anyways, my
name was changed back to my original name and my owner tells me that it that it means a "gift" in
Hebrew so that must mean that I am pretty special (that is also why it is spelled differently.)

I have to tell you right away what a sweet girl everyone says I am.  EVERY SINGLE person that I have
met has stopped, petted me and told me how absolutely beautiful I am.  People love to give me tons of
kisses and I love to give them right back!  I am still a little nervous when I meet some people and my
owner makes sure to tell them to put their hand out so I can sniff them and make sure they are okay.
That works really well for me.  I also have the sweetest personality, or so I am told.  I do funny little
things with my head when my owner talks to me.  I love to give kisses so much and I will smile at you
when you get excited to see me or play with me.  I am very lovable and when I am not running around I
love to cuddle with anyone.  It doesn't matter how small the space is, I will find a way to fit!!!!  My lip
also sometimes gets caught on my tooth and everyone thinks it is the cutest thing.  I must tell you also
though that I do have some other things that I would like to ask for in my new home.  I really have a ton
of energy and love to run around.  I love to run very fast in circles, leap over things and bound though the
grass.  If you have a fenced in yard for me to play in that would be great.  I get out and go on walks a lot
with my owner now, but it just doesn't seem to get all my energy out.  I must admit also that I pull a lot
on the leash.  I don't try too, I really just would rather be running than on a leash so much.  I am so
excited to be outside and I want to show you how much fun I have.  Don't get me wrong, I love to go for
walks, but really need some space to run around.  Also, I get nervous when I am home alone.  I really
like to be with people and don't like to be alone.  I think if I had another dog to play with that might be
fun also, but being alone for longer periods of time is not fun for me.  My owner is very sad to give me
up, but she really feels that I will thrive better in a place with multiple people or some sort of companion
throughout the day, and space to run freely several times per day.  I have been though a 7 week
obedience class and passed with flying colors.  I am learning my basic commands and am really good at
sit and lay down.  I really am the most adorable little girl you could ask for.  I am full of love for everyone
and love being with you all the time.  I hope whoever reads this is excited to meet me and take me to
their home forever! P.S.  I am also sending some updated photos that I took of her.  I hope they come
out ok.

5/28/07 - A very sad new Mom is choosing Shay's(formerly Tia) happiness and Shay needs another
type of home.  She came from such a large pack of dogs in her last home, that she needs another dog to
live with.  She is not happy being alone while her owner works & for the last 2 months she literally cries
all day long at the door, waiting for her Mom to come back.  Her Mom loves her to death, but knows
Shay is not happy & she wants that more than anything for her.

UPDATE 5/7/07 -  Hello, Things are going pretty well with Tia.  She is having some trouble with
separation anxiety though which is our biggest problem.  She is not destructive thankfull, but she whines
for the entire day that I am gone.  Luckily my neighbor downstairs (who works from home) has been a
saint and is completely willing to work on this with me and is sticking it out everyday!  I have done many
many things, and I think something is starting to work so that is good.  I have received lots of good
advice which is helpful.  So other than that everything is great.  She is an adorable little girl and is so
sweet.  Her health is great and she did wonderful at her first vet appointment.  Obedience training is also
going well.  Most days she is the star and they use her as an example because she does so well!!!  I also
discovered that she is not afraid of the vaccuum cleaner but is afraid of the swifer!!!  Go figure!!!

4/6/07 - Tia has been adopted!

3/5/07 - Hi, Tia here. I really should update my pictures - I've put some meat on my bones since coming
to my foster home. I'd like to tell you about myself......I am a good watchdog and let you know if
someone is at
the door. I am very athletic.....to annoy my foster mom I jump/climb up and over a six foot chainlink
fence! My saving grace is that after I scale the fence I race right to the house door and beg to come in.
I'm sure I
would make someone a great frisbee partner. I am a snuggler and love to curl up on the couch with
people and/or other dogs. I have a cute smile (my lip gets caught on my teeth) which makes the family
laugh a lot. And I have a boxer heart and am all wiggles and kisses when I greet you whether you've
been gone 3 days or 3 minutes! If you want a happy, playful girl, think of me!

1/16/07 - HI, my name is TIA (formerly called Shy at the shelter). My foster mom’s grandson gave
me my new name, isn’t it pretty?  (just like me!).  My foster mom says she is still evaluating me as
she gets to know me.  I come out of my shell a little more each day.  I just went to the vet’s office
yesterday and had my shots and tested negative for HW.   The vet said I am healthy, have good muscle
tone and am a sweetheart.  (I like him).  I go back next Tuesday for my spay. I’m rather looking
forward to going back because everyone there is so very nice to me!  There are two other boxers here
at this house and two cats.  I get along with them all; especially Bailey – we play tug-o-war with a
rope.  Foster Mom says we raise up a lot of “dust bunniesâ€ with our racing through the house!
Well, goodbye for now……keep checking in on me and perhaps I’ll become your Perfect Match!

1/6/07 - Shy was a neglect case & was taken from a home with 25-30 dogs. She was very nervous and
scared by all the people and other dogs and noise at the shelter, so they took her off the adoption floor.
Another boxer rescue was suppose to pick her up last week, but they never showed so the shelter called
us back to help.  Thank you to her transport volunteers that helped get her safely into rescue this
weekend!  More updates soon from her foster home.
