SHADOW
(ADOPT ME & MY MOM ABIGAIL & HER $150 ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED!)

UPDATE 8/25/07 - We had so many applications on these two girls that we just couldn't decide where
would be the perfect place for these two girls.  So.... we decided that the "perfect home" for them was
right here at their foster home.  We really didn't have any applications on them but we are thrilled that
they will spend the rest of their lives with us.  Not sure how much longer Abby-girl will be with us but
we will cherish everyday.  She is getting pretty tired but she will tell me when she is ready.  She
absolutely makes my heart jump a beat because of her ways.  They both love life here and Shadow
who has never been without her Mom will be okay when she finds herself alone. No one is ever alone
here.  We feel very blessed that they are in our lives.

8/22/07 - Abigail & Shadow will spend the rest of their days happily with their Foster Family!

4/24/07 - Shadow and her mom, Abigail continue to do well at their foster home. Shadow is just fun to
watch. She loves attention but is very good at just staying back and watching the world pass her by.
She is never far from Abby but she will venture out by herself. Shadow being 9 years old is still very
playful and will usually have a good play session with our other foster girl Jersey. They do alot of boxer
play and Shadow is always boxer talking during their play session. She is a very dedicated little girl to
her family. She is a little bit of a picky eater but will usually always finish her bowl if you give her some
extra time. She appears to be the boss when it comes to dealing with Abby. Abby will let her do
anything which includes sitting on her mom or sleeping on her, or taking food from her which I let her
know that it is not acceptable behavior. I think they both just have an understanding of each other.
Shadow certainly knows when she is in trouble and will pick up the pace once she realizes that you
want to correct her. Shadow is a sweetheart and we are happy to have Shadow and Abigail but they
deserve a nice home to spend the rest of their time together. They dream
every night of the new place. Please help them get to where their hearts want to be.

3/18/07 - Shadow is doing well at her foster home. She is now with all of her foster brothers and sisters
and does a good job with all of them. She has begun to play a little bit with some of her new friends but
doesn't get far from Abigail who she came in with. I am thinking that they are mother and daughter as
they always sleep together so that they are touching and even will do some serious grooming with each
other. Shadow is quieter than Abby and will usually stand back and watch what is going on. She also
loves when you get down on the floor with her to play. She will play with you for short periods of time.
She is a little bossy with Abby which doesn't bother Abby at all so I would say that in their circle of life
that she is the boss. Shadow had no problem telling another dog that she is unhappy with them but it is
short lived and knows how far she can push. Shadow is a sweetheart and loves any attention that she
can get. She has seen the vet and been brought up to date on her vaccinations and treated for ear mites.
The vet thought that both girls were very healthy for their age and would make a nice addition to any
family that adopted them. Shadow just doesn't have the confidence that Abby does but together they
do fine. Shadow is a good eater and eats kibbled food twice daily. She loves her peanut butter filled
marrow bone that she gets for going in her crate. Both girls would make a great addition to your family.
They don't require much and would be forever grateful for a second chance with a good life.

2/24/07 - Shadow has made her way to her temporary foster home. She came in with another female
named Abigail who might be her mother. Both of these girls were used for breeding and their story is a
sad one. Their owner had passed away and her children were faced with what to do with these dogs.
They were to be put to sleep the next day if we didn't find a spot for them. There was even talk about
them shooting them but thank goodness that didn't happen. They are the smallest boxers I have seen in
a long while. I bet they don't weigh 35 lbs soaking wet. They had baths yesterday and it could have
been their first as they were sooo dirty. They are eating great and can stand to gain some much needed
weight. We are feeding them 3 meals right now to give them some extra strength. They are drinking a
ton so I even have a feeling that they weren't being taken care of. They need to be brought up to date
on their vaccinations and spayed. Shadow is a deaf dark brindle girl. She has met her foster brothers
and sisters through the gate and seems to be the more noisy one. She is the more cautious one and is
having a harder time dealing with all those foster brothers and sisters. Please check back to see her
progress. She is so lovable and already I find myself wanting to make everything alright for her. She is
sweet and has a strong bond with Abby. If you can find a spot in your home and heart, these two girls
will be forever grateful to you.
