10/10/07 - Hello Everyone. Just a quick note to let you know how I am doing. I am meeting new
friends every day. I met a 3 year old boxer that lives right around the corner from me. He is cool and
now I whine when I walk by because I want to stop to see him. I also met a Mini Pincher. I wanted to
hang out with her but she kept growling and running away. (women lol) I have also met a lot of new
people friends. I like to stop and say hello. I had a sore foot for a few days because I stepped on a
leave from a holly tree that is in my foster mom's yard. I am all better now. The pain is gone and guess
what the tree is too! Other than that things are about the same here. Hope to hear from you soon!
9/24/07 - Hello Sam here! I included a couple of pictures of me. The first one is of me doing what I
do best.SLEEPING . The other is of me and the little guy. I really like him. I like to sneak some
sloppy kisses on his face when he is not paying attention. I am very mellow and easy to please so
here's my wish list for my forever home. 1.) To spend as much time with you as possible. 2.) A
comfortable place to sleep. I am partial to the couch but if I am not allowed on the couch I enjoy a
fluffy dog bed too. 3.) Walking. I like 2 miles a day but am ready whenever you pick up the leash. 4.)
Food, treats and toys. If I can get those things I promise to be a good companion, give you lots of
kisses and keep your house as neat as it is when I get there (I am totally housebroken and I don't chew
on anything but food and treats). If that sounds like a good deal to you send in your application. Hope
to hear from you soon!!!
9/5/07 - Sam here. I wanted to drop a quick line to let you know how I have been doing. I like being at
my foster home, the food is good, the company is good but I would love to find a forever home. There
are 2 cats here. I am afraid of one but I like to follow the little one so if my forever home has cats I
hope they are dog savvy. I enjoy taking naps on the couch, or on your lap and walk almost 2 miles a
day. There was a birthday party here on Sunday for my foster mom's nephew. He turned 3. (I think the
party was for me). I barked at a few of the men that came to the party but warmed up to them once I
made sure they had an invitation. Please don't count me out because of my age. I still have a lot of
spunk in me. (oh and I love to give kisses).
8/26/07 - Well just when I think I have learned almost all there is to know about Sam he surprises me.
I have tried to entice him to play with toys, balls the hose etc and he is just not interested. Well the
other day out of the blue he picked up a tennis ball and brought it to me to toss to him. We played
fetch for about 5 minutes and then he was done. I have tried since and he looks at me like he has no
idea what to do. What a goof! 5 more days till Sam's 8th birthday!!! Still time to get your applications
in.
8/16/07 - Just a quick update on Sam. I picked Sam update today after a short vacation. He was so
excited to be going "home". He came right in the house made sure it was just as he left it, had a small
snack, got lots and lots of love and then....a big nap on his favorite spot (the couch). He is right back in
his old routine. He lets me know when it is time to eat, time to walk or time for kisses. He has been
formally introduced to the cats via a baby gate and does not seem interested in them. They hiss and
growl at him but he takes the high road and turns away from them. We had company today and he
greeted them with a little tap dance and butt wiggle. I can not say enough good things about this guy.
He is going to make someone and excellent companion.
8/7/07 - I received Sam's vet records today. He is up to date on all his shots and heartworm negative.
He will be celebrating his 8th on September 1. This boy is a sweetheart. He loves to walk, cuddle, kiss
kiss kiss and then take a long nap on the couch. He watches the kids playing at the park and enjoys
the attention and compliments he gets when we take walks. He is very gentle with my 2 1/2 year old
nephew as a matter of fact he has not jumped on one person. Wouldn't a forever home be a perfect
birthday gift?!!!
8/3/07 - Sam and I took a short field trip yesterday to my parents house. He rode very well in the car.
He played with my aunt's dog. (I think it's a Lhasa Poo). He was very gentle with her as she is much
smaller than he. He growled at my father at first but warmed up quickly with some reassurance that he
is a good guy. Other than that he is doing very well. He likes to take naps on your lap which is really
funny because he is almost as big as me.
7/31/07 - Sorry for the delay. Below is what I know about Sam so far. He is a fawn with white
neutered male with a docked tail and natural ears. He has been around several adults and one 2 1/2
year old and loves all of them. He did growl at my male friend but settled down once I let him know it
was ok. He has not personally met any older children yet but happily watches them as they play in the
park across the street. I have a crate for him but he does not use it (he prefers to lay on the couch all
day). He is very well behaved in the house so he does not need to be crated at all. He is house trained
and good on a leash. He has met my cats briefly and seems to have no interest in them. I was advised
he does not like his paws touched. The rest unfortunately I am not sure of. His owner just moved and
will be mailing me his vet records etc as soon as he unpacks them. I was told he is about 7. I am
guessing he is 85 lbs. I was told he is up to date on his shots but do not have a record of it so did not
want to post it yet. Once I receive his paperwork I can send an update to advise if he is up to date on
his shots and micro chipped. I don't know if he is obedience trained but he is very well behaved.
One more thing..just as I was typing this he was barking to let me know there were a couple strangers
in my yard. A couple of kids playing manhunt but it's good to know he is keeping an eye out.
7/31/07 - I've noticed there are 2 things Sam loves in life. 1.) People - He gets very excited to see
people. He is a gentleman. He does not jump on you he just gives you a happy little tap dance and lots
of kisses and his nub never stops wagging. Up and down. Side to side. Sometimes in circles. It is so
cute. 2.) Sleeping - He loves to circle around on the couch until he finds a comfortable position. Once
he finds the right position you don't hear a peep out of him.
7/29/07 - Sam has arrived! He is a cutie pie. His just starting to settle in. He was panting and pacing
for a while but then decided it would be nice to take a nap on my lap. I do not have his top box info
yet because his owner just moved and his paperwork is still packed. He will mail it to me once he is
settled. I know he is about 7 years old, neutered and his owner stated he is up to date with all his shots.
He previously lived with a cat and most recently with a small dog. I have not introduced him to my 2
cats yet. I will sent pics and an update once I know a little more about him.
7/28/07 - Sam will be arriving at my house on Sunday night. I do not have too much info on him yet
except he is 7 years old, lives with a small dog and loves everyone he meets. Oh and he was adopted
from SCBR when he was a puppy. I included a couple pictures that his father sent to me. I will send an
update when he arrives.
