NOTE ** Because I am still a baby, I will only be placed in a home where someone is home often, such as
retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parents, etc.
UPDATE 3/3/08 - Rhett is doing fantastic. There have been no signs of any UTI trouble. He has hardly
had any accidents. His training is going very well. (Honestly he'll do just about anything for a treat.)
Rhett is a very quiet dog and hardly makes a peep. We had heard from friends that they know of some
yappy Bostons and are amazed how content he is.
We had a wedding out of town last weekend and our very good friends took him in. They have a black
lab and a papillion (both about ten years old). They have a wonderful area for the dogs to play. Rhett
had a blast. He really loves being around other animals. He is quite inquisitive. We of course missed the
heck out of him. He is sitting on my lap as I type. I should mention that we use a laptop down stairs in
the evening and Rhett like to curl up on your lap as you type and occasionally he likes to take a crack at
the keyboard (we call him blog dog...)
Rhett still doesn't like the car (has no interest in looking out the window) and definitely is not enjoying
the snow. He does this little tap dance outside to keep his paws warm...I think we will have more
adventures this spring as there are lots of parks and places to walk.
Rhett has added so much love to home. We can't remember what life was like before he picked us as
his people.
Thanks again!
UPDATE 12/26/07 - When we got word we were cleared to pick up Rhett, we jumped in the car
and drove two and half hours. We were greeted by a happy and excited Rhett!
He is everything we were hoping for. He slept most of the way home (in the sun). The only unexpected
event was his flatuence. It continued the whole way home. We definitely weren't expecting that. We
have since rectified this issue with changing food and adding a second feeding. He still pretty skinny.
We have had a wonderful first week and half with him. Rhett is such a love! He is cuddly, and friendly.
He loves sitting in the sun and taking naps. He is doing excellent with his training (no accidents!) and he
has mastered "sit" and getting much better at "stay". We have been researching dog trainers in the area
and will have one selected next week. We will keep you posted on his training progress. He has been
sleeping in his crate and he doesn't hardly make a peep. I think we have heard him bark only a handful
of times.
We are so happy to have met Rhett and thrilled we were selected to care for him. Our friends and
family have been stopping by to meet Rhett and I think Rhett is loving the extra attention. He is just so
friendly and loving.
12/15/07 - Rhett has been adopted!
11/20/07 - Rhett has been having issues with always needing to urinate all the time and also is very
lethargic for a puppy, yet alone a Boston Terrier puppy. He went to the vet over a week ago and had
many tests. We just got the results yesterday and it turns out all his tests came back as normal. The vet
said the next step is for Rhett to have an ultrasound to see what is going on inside. He thinks there must
be some abnormality or defect inside that is causing Rhett's issues. More updates soon.
10/17/07 - Rhett has been here a little while and he is great. Rhett is a boston terrier with a crocked
little white line down his face and a little crocked tail. He is so adorable. He has had a bit of trouble with
a Urinary Tracy Infection but we are working on getting it all squared away. He has had some stomach
issues previosly and does get a stomach aches sometimes. I think he will do great on a sensitive
stomach dog food. Besides that he is super fantastic. We are so fond of this little guy. He loves to
cuddle and play and has good manners. We are working on being in a kennel but are having a hard time
because he is sick right now. I have been told he did okay in a kennel before. Rhett would do best with
a family that is home all the time because he is a young little guy. He does do okay if left alone he will
not get into things or make a mess. Rhett gets along with the other dogs and the cat. he likes to play
with the pugs.
