MISSY
5/1/07 - I received a call from a wonderful woman today who wants to adopt Missy. She said Missy
sounds like everything she wants in a dog. She is hoping to pick up Missy this weekend. I will keep you
posted on this wonderful event that maybe happening so soon!! I am so happy for Missy!!!

4/22/07 - Missy is quite a unique dog. She is very smart and very happy here in her foster home. She
gets her daily run at the park in the evening and walks beautifully on and off the leash. She is the perfect
dog for someone who doesn't have the time to train a dog, because she is already trained in all the basics
of being the perfect pet. She knows all her commands and we rarely have to repeat ourselves. She is
great in the house and never ever needs to be crated. She is a well behaved and very obedient. She gets
along great now with my senior, Chase and my two year old, Athena. They all have an understanding. It
was rough at first when Missy arrived as she tends to be alpha. However, we are now a happy family.
She would make anyone a great companion and gets along great with other dogs and possibly children.
Because she has no interest in young children she would not be jumpy around them nor engage in rough
play with them. She is not hyper and is more laid back, but still playful enough for all the fun you would
expect in a dog. Whoever adopts this little sweetheart is going to be one lucky person or family.

3/31/07-Missy had her stitches removed this past week. She barely has a scar and has healed nicely.
Missy is doing really wonderfully here in her foster home. I have learned from her behavior just how
smart and independent she really is. I would recommend her forever home to be a family with no other
dogs. She just has no interest in them. She doesn't play with her foster brother and sister here, she just
puts up with them. She does cuddle with them though, but that's about it. She is a sharp dog and knows
how to get what she wants. She speaks her mind when she is ready to eat, and when she wants her
nightly walk. Somestimes I have to ask her to be quiet because I am either on the phone or in the middle
of a movie. At 8pm she is ready for her walk whether you are or not. She will moan and moan until you
either tell her "quiet", or finally take her for a walk. She would make a wonderful one on one buddy
campanion. She is very loyal to her people family. She would also be just fine in a home with cats or
small children, simply because she has no interest in them. Missy's only interested in her Mommy and
Daddy. however, she is extremly obedient. You never have to tell her twice what you need her to do.
She is a great friend, campanion, and would make a wonderful loving relationship with her future forever
Mommy and Daddy. Is that perfect family out there ready to take her home?

3/15/07 - Missy was spayed yesterday and came home today. She is doing great. However, a lump was
found near her nipple in her lower abdominal area. The vet removed it completely and the surrounding
tissue. He advises to monitor her closely from now on to make sure it does not come back. It is very
common for boxers to have lumps or growths sometime in their lives. Missy is very healthy otherwise
and active. You'd never guess she just had surgery. She amazes me. I had to tell her to lay down today
and take it easy. She just doesn't hesitate to get up and say what she wants. She even tries to bribe us
with kisses and wiggles. I do take the bribe, but she's still not getting a walk from us, yet. She will be
taking it easy this week & in ten days she will just need her stitches removed.  Missy is ready to come
home to you!

3/05/07 - Missy has been here almost two weeks now.  She does not have any interest in my senior
boxer Chase or my baby boxer girl Athena.  She does not play with my dogs at all.  She appears
interested in only my husband and me.  At first when she arrived she was doing the " Alpha female thing"
with my dogs.  When Athena, who is one year old, was playing with her own toys and being the happy
dog that she is;  Missy was not having it.  She would tower over Athena and growl.  As if to say "knock
it off,  I'm in charge".  I scolded Missy and told her to "knock it off".  She did back down.  However,
when feeding time came around the first night, Missy was in control and growled and tried to fight with
both my boxers.  My husband quickly stepped in and intervened, now he has Missy lay down as the
food is prepared and he feeds all of them at once with no conflict.

Other then being a Strong Alpha female, Missy is very obedient.  She never has to be told twice when
scolded or when we command her to sit, stay, or lay down.  She even gives paw.  As far as her
background goes, Missy was raised with other dogs.  Ali was one of them.  She must had been the
Alpha dog with them.  My senior boy Chase won't have it.  They have had their spats when feeding time
occurs.  However, with proper intervention, Missy behaves and backs off.

Missy listens very well her to her commands.  She loves to kiss and cuddle. She is a true peach and
knows where her place is in the household.  She would be fine with a family that has kids or not.  She
adapts well to her enviroment and she learns her lessons quickly along the way.  We have grown fond of
her very much.  She would make a great addition to a large family or small family.  She does not play
rough at all, and only plays with her people campanions.  She just tolerates other dogs.  No problems at
all. She would make a great pet for anyone.

2/22/07 - Missy went to the vet today. She had her shots updated, which I later learned she may not
have needed. I am watching her closely to see if I may have had her over vaccinated. The vet said today
that she is in excellent shape for having two litters in her past. I asked if her age at 6 years old looked
accurate, because her muzzle is a bit white. The vet said her body gives her age away. She is still young
and strong. Her physic is that of a 6 year old. He also says some boxers get white around their muzzle
early on and she obviously is one of them. I asked about the tear stains from her eyes. He advised me
that because her muzzle is so short and pushed in, her eyes do not drain properly [normal boxer
structure], and unfortunately nothing can be done. Nothing will totally remove the stains either. However,
the improper drainage is completely harmless.

Missy was a little restless at the vets and barked everytime a dog barked in another room. She was
pretty funny. The techs loved her and thought she was a little doll. Missy also had the opportunity to
meet Felon today. She told me what a handsome gentleman he is. I told her not to get any ideas because
she is getting spayed next week and would have no use for him in her life. So next week she is scheduled
for her spay [she did not appear to happy about that]. I will report back on her recovery. Untill then I
will enjoy her many boxer wiggles and kisses!!!

2/18/2007  - Missy arrived here yesterday. Thanks to Jeri and Gail for bringing this lovable peanut into
our lives. It was a cold wintery afternoon and I appreciate Jeri and Gail drivig up towards my way to
bring her here. Missy was not happy to go in the crate once she arrived. She whinned and barked for
awhile until she realized it wasn't getting her anywhere. Once she was let out she was fine with my two
dogs. Missy claimed my husband hers as soon as she was out and she tried to stare down my female
from getting close to him. We rectified the situation with a firm "no" and "bad". All soon was well on the
western front!!! Missy and my two dogs just don't bother with each other. They all go there own way.
Great family..Anyway, Missy first night was great. She slept through the night without a peep from her.
She is full of boxer wiggles and kisses. Very lovable addition to any family.
