MIA
UPDATE 8/26/07 - Mia is doing wonderful here in her forever home. She is exactly the kind of dog we
wanted to add to our family. She is sweet, loving and gets along great with other dogs. Since she has
been with us, she has lost about 8 lbs and looks great. Before she couldn't get up on the bed and had
trouble getting in the car, and now she moves like a younger dog. Her leg, since she had the ACL
surgery in March, seems to be bothering her less and less and she is doing well and not favoring it as
much. I think the weight helped with that, too.
We feel fortunate to have Mia with us and am very grateful to SCBR for the second chance they gave
her so she could find us.

7/7/07 - Mia has been adopted!

5/23/07 - I am happy to say Mia is doing wonderful! I have not update her in a while because after her
leg surgery she needed to be kept quiet so her leg could heel. Because she loves to run and jump and
play that meant she had to be kept crated most of the time and I could not find much to write about her.
Now her
leg is well on its way to being heeled and we are able to let her have much more freedom.
I have taken Mia to two Boxer Rescue Awareness Days and she has done wonderful at both of them!
A lot of dogs find it stressful having strangers coming up to them all day long, but not Mia. She really
loved all the
attention from the people and behaved wonderfully with all the strange dogs.
Mia loves other dogs and really enjoys playing with them, but her favorite thing is kids! When my son
comes in the room her whole attitude changes and she cannot stop wiggling. I think Mia would do great
in almost any home. She really just needs someone to love her.

3/27/07 - Mia has had a real rough few weeks. She had her leg operated on about two weeks ago now
and the surgery was very successful. However after she came home she had stomach problems brought
on by either the stress of surgery or some of the meds she was taking. So on top of dealing with being
in a foster home and having a sore leg she also had to spent another night in the hospital getting fluids
until her stomach settled down. Through it all she has been a real trooper though. She loves everyone
she meets and let the vets do all their tests and exams without any protest. She is defiantly a wonderful
girl and would love a home with kids and dogs. Mia was obviously someone's well loved pet at one
time in her life and the poor little girl must be wondering what went wrong. Mia defiantly deserves to
have a family to love again. Get your application in now so she can have a real home again.

2/27/07 - Hi its me Mia. I want to tell everyone all about myself. I am a very smart very pretty girl and I
need a family that appreciates me. My foster Mom said I may have to wait a little while because the DR
may need to fix my leg but I am ready for a family to love now. I would love a family with kids because
they are my favorite kind of humans. I also would love to have other dogs to play with. I have met one
of the other dogs in my foster home but I was so upset he would not play with me. It really hurt my
feelings I gave him kisses and hit him with my paw I was being as cute as I know how to be and he just
pretended I was not even there. So I think a doggy brother or sister who would play with me all the
time would be the best thing ever.

My foster Mom says I am a really good girl because I never have accidents in the house and I am really
good in my crate. What does she think I am a puppy? I am at least five years old and I know how to
behave. Please!

It isn't so bad here but it just isn't home and I really want a home of my own. So if you are looking for a
sweet girl with lots of love left to give get ready for me now so I can go home with you as soon as my
leg is better. I'll be waiting.   Hopefully yours, Mia

2/18/07 - Mia has arrived safely at her foster home. Unfortunately pictures and a write up will have to
wait. The poor girl is exhausted and has been sleeping most of the time she has been here. The only
thing she really woke up for was to eat, then right back to sleep. Her leg seems to be bothering her a lot
so I will make an appointment to have it checked out right away.
