MADISON
(ADOPT ME & MY SISTER LELU & HER $150 ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED!)

UPDATE 8/28/07 - Madison is such a loving, big boy, did I mention big?  He either doesn¡¦t know
how big he is or doesn¡¦t care! ļ  He must have been a picked up puppy because he really
does think he¡¦s a lap dog sometimes.  Madison and his sister Lelu love to play with each other, they
will jump at each other like they are a couple of lions.  Lelu usually wins because Mad will give up and
play dead, or old man.  We¡¦ve nicknamed him Old Man Madison and Mad Dog.  The second
night they were home someone¡¦s camper got a flat in the night and they left it about 50 yards from
our driveway and when we let Madison and Lelu out to do their business Madison immediately went to
the end of the fence barking the whole way¡K.he just knew the camper didn¡¦t belong there and
he wanted to make sure whom ever it belonged to knew he was there and with his family, so don¡¦t
mess around!  Æ’º It was great and VERY impressive that he would know that wasn¡¦t normal in
such a short time.  He is also doing very well with training, although his stay needs more work, he offers
sit and down.  We use off for him to get off from furniture and people. ļMadison is a perfect
gentleman on his leash and I was very impressed to see him run and jump in the back yard, he¡¦s a
fast old boy!   We love walking on the beach; both Madison and Lelu like to swim in the ocean and in
our 50+ acre back yard.  We worried about the children vying for attention but both Lelu and Madison
have plenty of love to spread around and do so quite willingly.  Lelu seems to be the brains of the
brother/sister relationship while Madison the broun.   He loves both of their beds, if Lelu is laying on
hers, he¡¦ll lie down and snuggle his way in until she¡¦s fallen onto the floor and claims his bed.
He also will lie on his back with is jowls flapping all around.
They both love yogurt with breakfast and pumpkin or rice and gravy with dinner.  Madison is still a
drooler but my kitchen floor has never looked so clean!  Æ’º
Madison went to the vet the first week they were home with us so the Doctor could meet him and was
given a clean bill of health.  We are enjoying their company and love them very much!

UPDATE 7/28/07 -   My husband and I picked up Lelu and her brother Madison last night.  Though
there was plenty of room in the truck, Lelu still wanted to rest her head on Madisons back side.  When
we arrived we showed them the fenced in yard for them to play and they did.  They are both very
smart, I had a pocket full of treats and they showed very good manors to receive one.  They haven't
devided, we thought maybe Madison being male would attach himself to my husband and Lelu being
female attach herself to me, but they alternate to give my husband and I the same amount of attention.
After playing in the yard for a half hour or so we went inside for them to explore their new home.  They
were very tired and we all laid down on the floor, Lelu rested her head on my arm and fell right to
sleep, she snores. :) They woke a few times in the night just to say hi, I think they wanted to make sure
we were still here.  Madison tried to come into bed with us a few times but "off" seems to work well.
They are so friendly and we are blessed to have found them.  Our family moto is "things happen for a
reason" and Lelu and Madison were meant to be here as part of our family.  Madison and I have an
agreement with his drooling....he does it and I clean it up. :)  Lelu is quite the mother hen though, if she
sees he's looking pathetic she'll clean him for me.  She is a pacer, she walks around in circles if we're
standing still or Madison is busy.
We start training on Wednesday although I know they don't need formal training, I'm excited to learn
the things they already know.
They are such loves and I thank SCBR for this placement.
We're going for a walk now.  More to come as we get to know each other in the coming weeks.

7/27/07 - Madison has been adopted!

7/11/07 - These two sweetie-pies have totally settled in at the Riverview! Everyone who helped with
their transport fell in love with them, and so did I! They are so well-behaved that they have already
earned full house priveledges. Last night they slept in my bedroom. And this morning I was sandwiched
in between two Boxers like an Orea cookie. MAdison is a real kisser--he will kiss you endlessly if you
let him. I tell him 'enough' after a while and he is starting to learn that. Lelu neither looks nor acts her
age--this girl can cruise around the back yard. Both take treats nice and gently, and are even fine withe
Beau around their food and water. Using the doggie door is now 'old hat' to them so they can go in and
out at their convenience. (Which is very convenient for me as well.) While they behave fine when I am
gone, boy do I get a happy welcoming when I return home. It is great to be loved! So far thye ahve
evidenced only moderate curiosity about my cat, so I am pretty sure that they'd be OK with Kitties as
well as another dog. But I'll give it another day or two before I post them as "Ok with cats" just to be
on the safe side.

7/7/07 - Madison is a big sweetie who arrived with his 'sister' Lelu from a wonderful shelter in New
York. They had been surrendered as their family was moving and couldn't take them.  They were raised
with children and have gentle personalities.  Madison and Lelu had a long drive from NY with some
wonderful SCBR transport volunteers.  They greeted me with wagging nubs. smelled the kitchen and
sniffed Beau through the baby gates, and checked out the back yard.  Then they had a big dinner of
kibble with a special treat--boiled chicken breast and broth poured over the top.  YUM!  They ate next
to each other and showed no food agression to me or each other.  Now they are sacked out on the
porch, and it will be bedtime soon for us all.

FROM THEIR TRANSPORTERS:

7/7/07 - It was a pleasure to see Anne, Richard and Missy on this transport.  These 2 boxers were 2 of
the sweetest, gentlest lovebugs we've ever transported.  Hope they find the good homes they deserve.
Barb and Tom

7/7/07 - Mr. Madison and Ms. Lelu were very very sweet. They rode wonderfully for me
in my car. Madison wanted to give me gentle sloppy kisses in the worst way,
but settled for kisses in the air when I wouldn't let him slime my face any
more. These guys are going to make someone very happy. They have plenty of
spunk left to play and are mature enough to stay out of trouble. If I had
room I would take them!
