retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parents, etc.
UPDATE 5/13/08 - Hi our 6 month report on Daisy is here! Daisy continues to do great with our
family!!! We are so glad she is a part of the family. Like one of the kids she has little moments of
misbehavior- right now its jumping over the fence as a come and get me game. We are nipping that in
the bud!!! We can't have anyone out without an adult, kids or dog. She is a love bug and loves to
cuddle. We all love that. We can't wait to get her up to the beach this summer!! Looking forward to
our 1 year anniversary!
UPDATE 1/8/08 - Hi! We're sending in our three month update on Daisy. She has successfully
finished her obedience class. It took a little longer than expected due to so many snow cancellations.
She continues to do great with our children. It's as though she's been a part of the family forever. She
did seem to have some separation anxiety, but, that's gone to the wayside. Thank goodness. I think
she knows that she's here to stay and that we're not going anywhere. She's been a busy girl...walking
each day as well as running around the yard with the kids, going to the groomer, taking some weekends
in Maine and she even "sleds" with the kids. Her visit to the groomer was traumatic for my 2 year old
son, her cried for 30 mins that I was leaving "his" dog!! Daisy is liked by all who meet her, we are so
glad to have her as part of our family. We couldn't imagine life without her. Thanks SCBR!
UPDATE 11/7/07 - Hi! This is our official one month report....well...a little early. Daisy continues to
do great with our family. She is wonderful with all three kids 6,5 and 2. She and our two year old
definately have a special bond. (Daisy doesn't drool, our 2 year old does!) Everyone who meets her is
amazed by how wonderful and how beautiful she is. We had a bit of a honeymoon phase when she first
arrived. Now, she is showing some more personality...we've had a few countersurfing incidents and
some shoe chewing...we've also had more fun with her as well. We were glad to see some more
personality. We are into week three of basic traning classes and she is doing great. Some of the other
owners wondered why we were even there! All is well with Daisy look forward to our three month
report!!
UPDATE 10/29/07 - Just a quick update on Daisy...She is wonderful. We think we hit the dog
jackpot with her. She is great with all three of our children, she and our two year old have an especially
close bond. She loves going for walks and running around the yard with the children...everyone is full
of energy all day, come 730 we are all tuckered out. All who meet Daisy can't believe how good she
is, even the vet! We did find her countersurfing once (i think it might've been my fault, but now we
know). Thank you to SCBR our family is sooo happy with our new member Daisy!
10/12/07 - Daisy is on her way to Massachusetts! She is going to be the guardian and playmate of 3
little kids, well 2 not so little, but 5 and 6 are still pretty young. This is another dog that just seemed to
know that this was her day! She did show off just a bit with jumping high but overall she was a very
good girl. She jumped right into the car and away they went. She is already signed up for obedience
classes and I expect to hear good
reports. Live a long and happy life, Daisy. You are a sweet girl!
9/25/07 - Daisy is now spayed! The special good news is that since being here her "stomach issues"
have been taken care of. Feeding twice a day does wonders for dogs. She eats well, has a formed stool
and seems to be in fine shape.Getting sufficient exercise has calmed her down tremendously! She is
very smart, does know a few commands, seems to be house trained (no accidents here) and should
take to training quite readily. She will chase a cat, but the cat has to run. Otherwise she is just a bit
curious and benign. One of my cats will always run and the others usually stand their ground and dare
any dog to misbehave. I think she will make someone a very nice companion.
9/23/07 - Daisy has arrived at the Log Cabin. She was an owner surrender, along with her brother Izzy,
to a nice shelter we work with. No time to take care of them. Daisy needs lots of exercise and
attention. Her education has been sadly neglected and she is pretty much ignorant of proper demeanor
in the house. We are working on it and the first steps are lots of exercise and the basic "NO and OFF"!
She is pretty fair on leash (they were using a prong collar), rides well, does know a few commands, but
she is so puppy-ish (I think from lack of attention) that she is very easily distracted. She has spent a
considerable amount time running in the back yard and stretching her muscles. She has springs in her
feet and will jump shoulder high from a stand still! Lots of puppy energy! She will be spayed on
Tuesday. This little girl will make someone a very nice dog if she is given the proper exercise, attention
and training.
