CARMELLA
** NOTE: Because I am still a baby, I will only be placed in a home where someone is home often, such
as retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parent, etc.**

UPDATE 8/30/07 -   Carmella is doing great. She went on her first vacation with us to New
Hampshire and loved every minute of it. She loves the water and is facinated by the guppies and is
determined to catch them. She has gotten really tall and is 65 lbs. Even though she is 65 lbs she is still
got that slim pettie boxer body. She loves other dogs and people. She still thinks she is a lap dog, but
the again so do all big dogs.

UPDATE 5/24/07 - Carmella is a great dog, she is full of life and loves everyone. She loves the
neighborhood dog and plays with her all the time. Carmella goes everywhere with us and loves the car.
We live next to a lake; where she has figured out that she loves the water. Her and the other dogs love
to swim. She is still a cuddler like she always has been; she loves to just lay in the hamic with my
daughter. She also loves to go fishing with us in the row boat.

UPDATE  4/25/07 - Carmella is doing great. She has adjusted very very and loves the other dogs. We
took her on her first kayak ride and she loved it. She loves to run around in the field and play with the
dogs. She is still one big lap dog and loves everyone she meets. She loves cruising in the jeep with the
wind in her face.
She is one of the smartest dogs that I have met. She is in her fourth week of obedience school and is
doing great. She listens very well.

2/24/07 - Carmella has been adopted!

2/1/07 - Hard to believe the puppies will turn 9 weeks old tomorrow. We are going to celebrate the big
day with a trip to the vet, they are due for their second vaccination and likely another deworming. They
are doing very well. So sweet and social. They definitely see me and their "food source" as soon as I
get up in the morning they start screaming. No barking as of yet just this silly high pitched yelping. They
take their trip out to potty then come in and make noise until I feed them. It appears they want to make
their presence known, as if I would forget to feed them. They eat like they have never eaten before,
trust me they are well fed we are on our 3rd bag of puppy food already.

They are doing really well with the puppy nipping. The biting has definitely lessened and they are
beginning to learn it is not acceptable. I'm pretty impressed with how quickly they are learning. They are
all a lot of fun. They play hard then crash for a nap. Jeter and Carmella are destined to be lap dogs
sometimes they prefer to just sit on our laps during play time. They others like to be held too but only
after they get to play awhile. Latte's new move is to jump over the other pups when playing instead of
going around them. Takeo loves the big dogs and my son. Cappuccino is so much fun. The other day
she was sitting in the family room watching TV, where's the camera when you need it?

I'm trying to get new pictures of the puppies. It's hard to believe but they are getting even more
adorable as they are growing up. They are some beautiful babies.

1/15/07 - Cuddle, cuddle, cuddle that's what little Carmella likes to do. She fell asleep in my lap last
night her little face burrowed between my arm and body. It was so cute she nudged me to keep moving
my arm until she found that perfect position. When she's not cuddling she is a happy, playful pup. She
loves toys of any sort and has perfected getting 2 toys in her mouth then playing keep away from her
littermates. She is going to make her new family very happy! Carmella is a reddish fawn with some
white and a black mask.

1/10/07 - SCBR's newest litter of babies arrived Tuesday and we would like to thank their first foster
family for taking such great care of them. These little Boxer mix babies came all the way from KY, they
are now residing in NY. Tessie is the momma, she is a very pretty white boxer mix. Tessie arrived very
skinny, with a badly broken leg. The efforts began to save her leg and she was fitted with a specially
made cast. The vet had some doubts that her leg could be saved. Tessie was doing well and gaining
weight nicely. It then became apparent that she wasn't just gaining weight because she was eating well
but because she was pregnant! On Decemeber 1st these pretty little pups were born, 3 males and 3
females. Since Tessie was in such poor condition the vet advised the puppies be weaned a little early
and taken from Momma. The fear was the pups too long nursing would deplete her calcium supply and
interfere with healing. The rescuer in KY was careful to do everything right, the puppies were brought
to the vet to be properly weaned, dewormed and vaccinated.
Once the doctor gave the OK for the puppies to be transported arrangements were made for the
journey to NY. I will update the pups individually once we get to know them. They are happy, healthy,
chubby, friendly little babies! SCBR was contacted because the person who rescued Tessie  doesn't
have an actual rescue, she takes dog in vets them and places them on a wait list to get into a local no kill
shelter. The wait can sometimes be quite long and she did not want these sweet little babies to spend a
minute in a shelter. There's good news for momma Tessie too, her leg is healing well (the doctor is
amazed and can't explain it) and she is being adopted by her foster mom's sister. This is one very lucky
little family, their fate could have been horrific had things worked out differently. More updates and
pictures coming soon!
