UPDATE 8/26/07 - Well Bubba had his birthday a few weeks ago so he continues to get bigger!
Summer is coming to an end so we are trying to spend as much time outside as possible. He's still doing
great and we love him to pieces. His favorite spot is still sitting on the end of the couch right in front of
the window and looking outside. All in all he's doing a ok :)
UPDATE 8/1/07 - Oh Bubba, still madly inlove with him! :) He's just such a good dog. We went
camping for the first time last week and he loved it. We even went rollerblading which was a blast and
probably the only activity that has actually tired him out.
We took him to the vet last week because he's been pawing at his face and she agreed with us that he
probably has some allergies so we're trying out some medication for 2 weeks to see how he feels.
That's all, overall we're still just having a great summer!
UPDATE 6/28/07 - Well it's month two and Bubba's still a great pup. He just graduated obedience
school last week which was exciting. We've been enjoying the summer evenings outside but not loving
the very hot temperatures during the day so we try to stay inside in the cool if it's too bad out. He's
soooo silly and fun to be around. We're still crating him during the day because he's a bit of a chewer
and we can't monitor him while we're at work. He's so funny when he's sleeping I have to get a picture
of it soon. We're looking forward to going camping soon and will hopefully include a trip to the beach
on that trip too! Ta ta for now!
UPDATE 5/28/07 - Hi there - oh Bubba, how lucky we are to have you in our life. It seems like it has
been much longer than a month because I've been waiting very patiently to provide this update :) Some
of his favorite things to do are: running around in the backyard and playing in what he must think is his
make believe forrest, playing catch, playing with his squeaky spider (he loves to walk up to you
squeaking it over and over again), being as silly as could possibly be by prancing on dustballs or just
goofing around. As I'm writing this he was crawling under the ottoman so that he could then jump and
slide his way to his toys.
We started obedience training and he's doing pretty well. He's got sit, stay and down pretty well. We're
working on getting him to stay-down and to come when called (he comes, but only if he's not doing
anything very interesting). He has been a puppy and chewed on a few things and he's not fully potty
trained still. He's pretty good but then will have an accident from time to time. He has met his aunts and
uncles (a chow-chow, beagle and husky) and has a lot of fun with them. He's mastered the 'I'm just
going to ignore you now, act' with the next door neighboors toy poodle that is quite the barker. Bubba
just kind of looks at him very maturely and eventually goes about his business.
He also loves car rides! We took him to the vet for a check-up and he is very healthy and also very
obedient and good while there. Well I guess that's all, I could probably go on for pages but the main
thing is he is such a blast and joy to be around and everyone who has met him has fallen head over
heels for him.
4/28/07 - Bubba has been adopted!
4/13/07 - I'm headed to the hospital for arthroscopy surgery so I thought I would do a quick update on
Bubba:
Bubba is such a puppy, he loves all the doggie toys and loves to take a walk. He is getting better on
the leash but I have started using the Gentle Leader as he is still pretty frisky. He will sit on command
and stay is pretty good, he really is a lover! We still have to work on house breaking and jumping up
on people (normal puppy things).
4/1/07 - Bubba is just the nicest boy, he is getting used to all the resident animals and will stop doing
anything he shouldn't be doing (like chasing the cat) when I yell "Bubba No"! He will sit on command
and is very good on leash. I think he played with every toy in the basket last night but did not destroy
any, loves to play "fetch".
He doesn't see to miss his littermate Chance at all, but is not far from me at all times. He is getting used
to the crate but needs a little work on asking to go out to "potty".
He has wonderful wrinkles on his beautiful head, a tail and dewclaws, If you like boxer kisses this boy
will give you plenty! He will bark to let you know that someone new comes in the door but will stop
when he sees that it's ok. I don't think this little lover will be here long so get your name in!
3/31/07 - Bubba has just arrived at his foster home so a lot of things are unknown at this time. Keep
watching this beautiful boy for the updates!
