12/29/06 - Sorry for the delay on the update. Bruin is a wonderful dog. He went to the vets to be
neutered and when he was under they x rayed his leg to see why he limps. We were not prepared for
what we saw. Bruins leg was shattered in 4 places, and you could see where he was hit with a blunt
object probably a baseball bat. The indent in the bone was crazy. Well there is good and bad niews.
Good news is that it doesn't seem to bother him to much. Bad news is that the injury is probably 4 or 5
months old and now can't be fixed. He will always have a definite limp but it doesn't slow him down. Dr.
Matt was surprised he was even walking on it at all. As his leg heals, he runs and plays like a normal
lab. He is gaining weight and starting to look real good. Bruin is being fostered with a young boy who is
his best buddy. He loves, kids, loves going for rides, loves playing ball. He doesn't get on the furniture.
We really feel he was an outside dog but with some love and care he is now a great inside dog.
Completely housebroken, trustworthy home alone, Great with everyone he meets, unsure of most dogs.

12/05/06 - Bruin arrived with a batch of dogs from a high kill shelter in VA. A rack of bones, crawling
with fleas and itchy skin he was a sight. Well this boy is just happy. He is so happy to have some great
food, get the fleas taken care of that his tail never stops. He is great in the crate and housebroken. He
loves everyone he meets and was great at the vets. He goes in next week to be neutered and check on
a little limp he has. When this boy fills out he will easily top 90 pounds. Bruin wants nothing more than a
boy to play with and a soft place to sleep for the holidays.
11/27/06 - Bruin is a purebred Choclate lab from a high kill shelter in VA. He is a super sweet boy but
what a mess. He is very thin and his coat is a mess. He will be going to see Dr. Matt this week.
Hopefully a neuter and some good food and he will be on his way to a better life. So far he has been
nothing but sweet and friendly.
