BERNADETTE
4/1/07 - Miss.Bernie enjoyed her second bath this morning.  she is so sweet , gentle and patient. I has
to scrub her  down two times with two different shampoo's ... she just rested her head on my shoulder
and enjoyed the massage. she is the less  fiesty out of the two of them (her sister is Beatrice) she does
not get in as much puppy curiosity trouble as  Bea does.  She is the more passive and easy going. she
loves to be petted , hugged and kissers. she will  stay at your side for hours.

she does like to chew and is very found of her Nyla  Bones.  the only issue she is having is  she still will
relieve herself in her crate. this is not uncommon for a dog that has been very  neglected.  most dogs are
very uncomfortable with a dirty den.  she had become use to it :(   it is clear she was not given proper
attention and spent a lot of time crated :(
the more time I spend with her the younger I believe she is.... I'd actually give her a year old.. rather
then 1 1/2. like her sister she gets VERY EXCITED when she hears her food being  prepared.  she
squeaks with excitement and anticipation of her meal :)  after a meal and a quick outing to relieve
herself.  she can snore to wake the dead!  you can really see the English Bulldog side of her when those
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ come rumbling through the house.

she will be dropped off next Sunday for her spay on Monday she  will return to her foster home
Monday evening.   Bernie will then be ready for her forever home  :)

3/27/07 -  Miss Bernie........ ohhhhh Miss Bernie. My little friend is passionate about her food......... and
my food and the kids food and the cat food.... :))   she lovesssssssssssssssss to eat.   She can hear me
mixing her food from the second floor and starts crying and whining with the anticipation of her meal :)
This baby was hungry many times in the past :( she also has some intestinal parasites that sucked up
some of her nutrition)...she get's 3 coffee cup scoops of dry with Boilded chicken and yogurt. and eats
this 2X's a day........ WITH GUSTO!!   she weighed in at 61 Lbs :))

She went to the vet yesterday and received medication for her parasites.   While at the vets she was a
perfect lady sat right next to me....... looked around, was calm and friendly... there is a resident cat in
the vets office. This cat is so bold... well it taunted her 5 times before she told it NO and attempted to
give chase....I think with proper introductions she would be ok with a cat.

She loves to be held and loves to snuggle.... shr was given some stuffed toys yesterday..... she loved
them but is a little possessive over them, she was grumbly with the other dogs.

These girls have not been well enough yet to do intro's with my dogs. I do believe they would be
OK..... I just don't want to add any more stress to them......... She has begun her Mage Treatment and
if all continues to go well she will be spay the first week in April........

3/20/07 - Miss Bernie has arrived in foster care :)she's the more confident of the duo.   Bea came in
with Bernadette.......they were brought to a shelter 1 week apart.   the story the gemtleman told the
shelter was he was just so lucky to have found these 2 girls in the same spot on the highway......... 1
week apart.   so he brought one in on a sat and the following sat he brought the other.   (it is believed
that they were actually his dogs)   She will be here for about 3 weeks to allow her Mange to heal
enough to be spayed.   More details and pic's to come as we get to know this little gem.........
