ANGEL
9/25/07 - Sorrowfully I write that Angel was put to sleep Sunday afternoon at an emergency veterinarian
hospital in South Deerfield MA.   By the time she was put to sleep she had been in a seizure for two
hours.   My husband and I are just heartbroken....but we kissed her, petted her and wished her God's
speed.   Please know that she was very well loved while she was with us.

8/31/07 - Angel's current home is very upset about this but is bringing Angel back Saturday.  They
cannot emotionally handle her medical needs.  She said she would try to get her meds filled in advance
for us and will have her vet send test results (checked levels to see if on correct dosages of meds)
directly to my vet's office. We will be holding off on placing her again until we have some time to see how
the thyroid medecine and phenabarbitol are going to do for her.  I  hate to see her uprooted again and it
not work out.

More updates soon from Angel's foster mom.

UPDATE 8/26/07 - I never thought I would do this, but Angel has to come back.  I thought I could do
this, but I can't.

UPDATE 8/23/07 - If I had written this update last weekend, like I was supposed to, it would have
been glowing.  The past two days, though, Angel has been having a cluster of seizure, getting more and
more frequent.  She's at the vet hospital right now to try to stop them and monitor her.  We were up all
night, I missed work today, and I don't know what's going to happen.

UPDATE 8/1/07 - Good news!  Angel has hypothyroidism.  That's good, because it's easily treatable,
and that's probably what's causing her to be overweight and sluggish, and maybe even caused her
seizures.  I gave her the first pill on Monday evening, and I swear she's already a little more responsive
and awake. Otherwise, she's doing well and settling in.  She's had a couple of accidents, but I'm going to
give her extra potty breaks and see if improving her sluggishness helps that, too.  She's a giant love, and
everyone who sees her loves her beautiful face!

UPDATE 7/25/07 - We picked up Angel on Friday. What a polite, mature lady! If I open the door, she
waits to be invited out; when we're eating she goes to lie down; and when I fix her food, she sits with her
ears
perked up until I put her dish down and tell her its okay. She lets the kids pat her and lean on her and
doesn't move an eyelash, and my 2-year-old could take her for a walk. She has had a couple of
accidents overnight, but I think we're figuring each other out and easing into a routine. I figured out she's
ladylike when she does her business, too. She likes to be off the leash and have a little privacy. One
evening I thought she didn't have to go, but maybe I just didn't do it right : ) (It reminds me of my first
Boxer, Koko, who would stick his head in the bushes, thinking that way no one could see him! Or at
least that's what we imagined.) She is hard of hearing, and walks very slowly. What starts out as a walk,
turns into a leisurely stroll after a couple of minutes. When we're at home she follows me around and then
plops down to take a nap by my feet. Can you tell -- I'm totally in love!

7/21/07 - Angel has been adopted! Angel trotted after the little one and right into the car with him!  She
Knew!!!

6/19/07  -  Hi, this is Angel again.  Good news!  I wanted to let you know that I went to the Vet last
week and my shots are up-to-date and I tested negative for heartworm and lyme disease.    I wanted to
let you know that I had two seizures last Thursday, those are the only ones since I've been in this great
foster home.  My foster mom was very gentle with me and softly talked to me and stroked me during the
seizures.  I know it is a lot to ask, but I am so hoping someone will come forward and accept the
challenge of adopting a boxer girl with a health problem.   I am extremely gentle and loving and will
promise to be the very best girl I can be!

6/2/07 - Hi, this is Angel and I want to tell you a little about myself.  I am a very RELAXED and laid
back, easy going big girl.  I love to nap...long naps (I snore a little).  When I walk around the house or
the yard I am very slow moving, so someone who can't walk real fast would love me to be by their side.
I have had small seizures in the past and I take medicine.  Since I have been in this (wonderful) foster
home I have not had any noticeable seizures.  Please take a look at my pictures - I am a giant Love!!

5/27/07 - Rocky and Angel arrived at noon today.  They came into rescue as their owner had died.
Rocky is the mother and Angel and Cassius Girl are her two daughters.  They are both overwhelmed and
exhausted.  They are taking nice peaceful naps.  Thanks to all involved in getting these precious girls to us.
