UPDATE 10/24/06 - Ok.......so Zoey has been with me for a month now, and as you all know she is in her "forever
home" as I told Zoey that the first night she came to live with me.
She's doing great - typical behavior mishaps all either associated with new home (although it's been a while since
any accidents) but mostly Zoey is just up to regular 'ole Boxer mischieveness! For instance, if I don't close all
closet doors she helps herself to my clothing, toilet paper etc. The best yet is Saturday night I had to call AAA to
come and unlock my car door because Zoey locked me out (my purse and keys were in the car). I was more
stressed than Zoey. Zoey wasn't stressed because she decided to have supper while she waited to rescued. I had
two raw chicken breasts in a Ziploc bag on top of my purse and was coming from my friend's house and was
planning
on cooking the chicken for supper.......but alas I had pizza because Zoey dined on raw chicken in the front seat of
the car!
Yes, I have bruises from being body slammed, and grass stain on my pants.........but each day I go to work I crate
Zoey and as Leanne knows this is a first for me - crating a dog - but........Zoey is my third boxer and I'm older and
wiser now so in the crate she goes!! I come home for lunch every day so Zoey gets to go out then.
She is a bed hog though - insists on sharing my pillow and not using the other side of the bed!  That's all for now.

6/5/06 - Well, poor Zofia is back! :(   She was having accidents when adjusting to her new home & her new owner
was not willing to work through that.  Most dogs do need at least a week or two to get fully adjusted to your routines
and you to their's, so if you have a little more patience for Zofia to settle in, please ask for her.  She's a great catch
& has been waiting too long for her new home! !

6/3/06 - Zofia was adopted!

5/11/06 - Zofia continues to be her sweet self in her foster home...she has learned to tolerate 4 of the other dogs
here and is absolutely in love with a Great Pyrenees that we are watching for a while. They will play for hours
on our deck and Zofia plays leap frog with him and does her Boxer antics until he isn't sure whether he is coming
or going. She will jump completely over him and he's never sure were she'll be coming from next!    Zofia is one of
those Boxer babies that will never lose that sweet puppy face, and with her energy level she will probably be one of
the ones that is still puppy playful all of her life. Zoe's bad habits are few and we are slowly working on them. For
instance she just loves to hug around the ankles, which can be rather disconcerting when she comes at you from
behind. I have been tripped up a few times. Zofia has learned "sit" and is just loving the praise that she gets when
she does it on command. She is learning "no pull" and although she is still a bit too rough for small children she
is now able to maintain a "sit stay" while my 5 year old son pats her for a few minutes. She just loves kids....
Zoe is now completely crate trained and although she barks a bit after first going in, she will lay down and "be
quiet" after a few minutes.   If you have no cats and older children Zofia would just love to fit into your family and will
work very hard to overcome her exuberance. She will even tolerate an older more calm submissive dog. Zofia
loves to please and loves to be loved.

2/26/06 - Well, little Zosha is wondering why she is not in her forever home? She is an adorable little girl and is
very smart!  She is a definate lovebug and although she is not enamoured of the other pets here, (she's sorta
bossy!), she will be a great companion as an only pet.  Zoe is a hugger and just loves to wrap her arms around
you and lean on you...she is also very mischievous and needs to be watched with slippers and such.  Her favorite
game is to sneak up on the slipper and dash away before you can catch her!   She does understand "drop it" and
"no"....and will do as you ask. If that naughty slipper doesn't watch it's step though, she will lurk about and do
another sneak attack!!! Please consider this little girl and get those applications in!!!

1/21/06 - Zofia is now spayed, had her shots updated and is Heartworm and Lyme negative as of last
Wednesday.  She is having a bit of difficulty getting along with the other dogs…except Brody of course!  Definitely
no cats and no little children, she just bowls them over!!!   She is sweet with people, a hugger.  Loves kids however
I can’t see her with the little ones until she’s had more training.  Won't you give Zofia her new home for
Valentine's Day?

1/08/06 - A lovely young lady made her way to the Upperfields in Maine yesterday from our favorite New Jersey
shelter. Thanks to Liz for springing her and thanks to her wonderful transporters. She was part of a large and
long transport, however, it didn't seem to phase her one little bit. Her name is now Zofia, ( the shelter was calling
her Sophie ) and she is about the sweetest young boxer girl to be found....she seems to have been well
taken care of, just about the perfect weight and very well behaved for such a young girl. I believe she may have had
some formal obedience training, she knows "quiet" "sit", "heel" and "no pull". She was quiet in her crate
through the night, although I am told that she isn't too keen on wire crates, she was fine in the varikennel type. We
will be trying her out with the resident felines this week. (If I can find any of them! We have three new fosters and
they may have decided to hide for a while!) Zofia will need to be spayed and will then be ready to move on to her
forever home....this will be a very very lucky forever home!!! Get those apps in folks...this is a beautiful well
mannered young lady!   Pics as soon as I can get my camera to download....having a little trouble and I am
electronically challenged.
