| 5/12/06 - Zeus made his way safely to the bridge today. It was hard to see him go but I know he is in a safe place. I hate the people that made him this way and then dumped him at the shelter at 10 years old. Zeus bit his foster mom during a fight with another dog. It was not the only reason why he will be PTS. Zeus was extremely dog aggressive, he also had severe seperation anxiety. He cannot be crated, he cannot be home alone and he cannot even ride in a car without destroying it. All of these things make him unadoptable. Plus being 10. We have no foster home that can handle him and he is a dog we would not dare to adopt out. 4/29/06 - Zeus the king-sized Boxer has arrrived at the Riverview Boxerhostel. This one does not need fattening up! He apparently is a good eater. And on the way to his foster home he decided to eat part of my Volvo! That is not good eating! He seems to have suffered no ill effects, but the Volvo headrest cannot say the same. Other than that he is sweetie. (I got some lovely Boxer kisses even though he was pretty stressed from all of the changes he has had lately) He even walks fairly nicely on a leash. Zeus had his neuter last week and is UTD on everything. He has a couple more Panacur dewormings for this round of treatment for his whip & hookworm. (Followup in 3 weeks and again in 3 months.) Zeus is not yet crate trained, so we'll be working on that here. He met Thyme, and they even played a little bit. Then he tried to mount her! (Zeus was a stud dog before he came iento rescue so that is probably what he thinks he is supposed to do when he gets around a cute female!) He has not yet met Beau, and that introduction will probably not be for a few more days. However, out on our short walk we did pass another dog being walked, and I saw no signs of leash agression. He may be listed as being 10, but I can't beleive it. He has not a single gray hair that I can see, and his play-bow with Thyme was as low and agile as a 4 year old. We'll let you know in bit how he's doing! 4/22/06 - Zeus, Roxanne & Buster were all surrendered to a shelter due to their owners being evicted. Zeus is the Dad to Buster & Roxanne was his mate.
