UPDATE 10/9/06 - What to say about Tyler James, he is awsome!! We drove 5 hours to pick up
Tyler in Springfield Mass and it was so worth it. He is a total luv bug, he and our other boxer, Rylee
Anne, (also adopted from SCBR) just love each other. We wanted another boxer so Rylee Anne
would have a playmate and boy do they PLAY!!! I wish I had 1/2 their energy. He is a beautiful long
legged, floppy, silly, lovable, 9 month old puppy. He makes us laugh and is a great entertainer. Besides
playing, his favorite thing to do is cuddle (perfect!!). He is an excellent addition to our family, we all fell
in love with him at first sight.
He was quite thin when we got him but he is steadily gaining weight. He still tries to chase the cats,he
means no harm, he is just so curious about everything.
The cats are dog smart so instead of running they just walk by and rub on his legs! He loves that. He is
very attentive to our commands and I think he will do great in obedience class. He knows sit and comes
well when called. He loves to play with toys and we have already gotten him a box full of them. He is
just a joy in every way. Thank you boxer rescue for another wonderful boxer, keep up the good
work!!!!!! We now have two joyful, loving, and beautiful babies. thank you, thank you, thank you

9/3/06 - Tyler has been adopted!

8/30/06 - Well, here is the latest on my sweet boy Tyler. Ty has been here 5 days now, and I couldn't
have asked for a better first foster. He is a perfect gentleman for one so young, never an accident in the
house ( you think Diesel might get the idea?), crate's up perfectly, sleeps quietly throught he night. He is
eating well, but needs to put on weight, I actually think his ribs are less prominent in just 5 days. He
plays well with the other dogs and is very respectful to my grumpy girl after a few gentle reminders from
Lil as to who was in charge. He walks well on the leash, and is getting very brave as his confidence
grows. Walking in the park today we passed two basketball games and a football practice. He stopped
and waited for me once, but then bravely walked on by with just a word of encouragement, no hiding
or acting aggressively out of fear. As far as the cat (kitten) goes, he is just fine with her. He is interested
and will approach her sniffing and kissing, she is of couse used to Boxer love and takes it all in stride.
The only time Ty cries is when the kitten is in the room but out of reach, after 5 minutes of love, he
settles down and relaxes. Ty barks when a stranger comes to the house, but settles down quickly. He
loves attention, likes to snuggle, he is a great kisser and gives the best boxer wiggles. He responds well
to being touched anywhere, and especially loves having his ears rubbed. I can't bath him yet due to his
recent nueter, but I think he would handle it well, I think he would do as well in a active home with kids
or other dogs, as he would with someone devoted just to him, if they could give him the play time and
attention a young boxer needs.

8/28/06 - I made it through my first day as a foster mom!! Everyone met, got along, played and wiggled
and wrestled all day, even outside in the rain.  They are all laying down in the livingroom, almost asleep.
It went so well.  Thanks for everyone's advice on introductions.  Tyler is a love, he'll do great in a
forever home.  But he is so skinny it is distressing.

8/27/06 - Tyler joined us as our first foster yesterday.  He is an 9 month old flashy fawn with soulful
eyes.  He was an owner surrender to a Massachusetts shelter with his housemate, a Rottweiller, as they
could not afford to care for them anymore.  The shelter staff described him as very nervous at the
shelter.  He has done well joining our home.  He is free with Boxer kisses and wiggles, and has met the
resident Boxers throught the crate.  Introductions with our playful male will take place later today.  He
is very SKINNY, ribs and vertabrae all are prominent, his back legs and hind quarters have nowhere
near the right amount of muscle.  He has seen the cat, and was interested, so we'll take that slowly.  He
loves toys and plays well-typical young boxer!!.  He slept quietly through the night in the crate, and has
done all his business outside, no accidents yet.  We'll forward another update after the intro's are
complete.
